So many people gathered for James's funeral, the man who practically raised her. His photograph sat on the wall, as guest were dressed in black, constantly approaching the young woman sending her their condolences. Eleanor had a black dress on, and black flats. She just nodded and said yes, as her eyes were puffy from crying. 

After a woman gave her her condolences, she left, and Eleanor looked up to see Padriac He was wearing his his glasses, that she use to make fun of him for, and she just couldn’t smile at him. She was in so much pain. Padriac then walked up to her, gave her a kiss on the cheek and hugged her tightly. He then whispered  in her ear “If we don’t leave this town, we might never make it out.” He pulled away, and she didn’t know what to say, and he began to walk out. 

Eleanor then rushed upstairs to her grandfather’s room, looking for his box. The money he left for Eleanor if he died, and she didn’t have time to count it. She then grabbed her wallet, which contained her credit cards, and cash. She shoved the cash that her grandfather left her, and shoved it in her bra.She scribbled a note and left it on her bed. She then ran downstairs and ran as fast as she could, as Padriac was about to get in to a cab.

“Padriac!” yelled Eleanor. He stopped and looked at her. She stood, looking at him, noticing their height difference. “Okay.” she said, and the two got in the cab. 

As the cab began driving, Eleanor kissed Padriac, and leaned on him, holding him. Padriac, searched on his phone, on craigslist, looking for God knows what.  The cab then, stopped and Padriac paid the driver, getting out, grabbing Eleanor’s hand. “Where are we going?” asked Eleanor. “Places!” exclaimed Padriac. The two began running through downtown, and stopped in front of an old Volvo. 

A guy came out, and Padriac shook hands with the guy as the two spoke, Padriac gave him money, and was handed keys. “Are you fucking kidding me?” said Eleanor, as looked at the car. He looked smug and said “Nope.” She rolled her eyes, as the two got in and began driving. 

At the next time over, they stopped at a clothing store, bought a bunch of thrifty clothes, and changed out of the funeral clothing. They shoved the clothing in the trunk of the car, and got back and began driving. 

“Where are we going?” asked Eleanor. “Anywhere.” answered Padriac.

For days they constantly kept driving along the high way, stopping in towns. Eleanor asked if they could pull up on the side of the road, and Padriac did so. Eleanor, looked at the sunset and smiled at the birds. Padriac then held her tightly as they looked at the sky. “I love you.” said Eleanor. “I love you too.” responded Padriac. 

They went back on the road, and Eleanor was using the GPS on her phone, to help Padriac navigate the road, when they landed in Las Vegas. She laughed and was mesmerized by the lights in the night sky. They parked the car and began walking around, and ended up by a fountain, where she got up and walked on the ledge, and turned around and jumped onto the floor. 

There was Padriac, on one knee with a ring out. Eleanor looked and laughed. “Padriac! Get up!” He smiled and stood up. “Marry me.” She smiled, and looked at his bright blue eyes. “You’re serious.” He nodded, she took the ring, and put it on. “Fine! But even though I don’t ever wanna get married, I’ll do this for you!” He laughed and lightly pushed her. “We can be engaged for as long as you want! As long as I’m engaged to you, and no one else.” They began walking to the hotel across the street. 

“We’ll be engaged forever then.”

 “That’s fine.”

The two got a room, and Eleanor crashed on the bed falling asleep, and Padriac fell asleep, cuddled and wrapped himself around her. They woke up, brushed their teeth, and changed their clothing. They made their way downstairs and check out of the hotel, and ate the complimentary breakfast. Padriac then pulled out a coin. “Heads we continue going west, tails we go back.” Eleanor nodded and said “Deal.” 

He tossed the coin up in the air, and the two watched it flip and land on the table. The two leaned forward to see the result. The two looked up at one another and smiled, and made their way back to the car. 

“You think we’ll see the Hollywood sign?” asked Padriac, as Eleanor was driving. “Who knows!” They were driving again for hours, when the sun was beginning to set. Eleanor then pulled over, and stopped the car. She walked out, and began walking away, tears falling down her eyes. She kept walking only to be sobbing hysterically. She shouldn’t be doing this, they should’ve went back, but they listened to a damn coin and kept going. Padriac, then ran out of the car  and pulled her close to him as he approached her, and she began sobbing in his arms. 

She stopped crying, after a few moments, and the two walked back to the car, and Padriac drove this time. He pulled onto an exit off the highway and pulled up to a gas station. They went inside, paid for gas, and filled it up. Eleanor bought gummy bears and food from the fast food place next door. She put the food and milkshakes in the car, and sat on the ledge as Padriac stood, waiting for the car to fill up, as he was on his phone. She ate a few gummy bears and then threw one at him, hitting his glasses. He looked up at her and he raised an eyebrow. She smiled and said “Hey.” only him to respond to “Hi.” 

The two then were back out on the road, and reached the town they wanted to. “I have a crazy idea.” said Eleanor. Padriac laughed as they drove, and said “Crazier than me taking you away half way across the country without letting anyone know?” She got quiet and laughed. “No.” 

 When the two reached the tattoo parlor, Padriac took off his glasses, and she pulled him inside. They paid the cashier, and went to the artists, and Eleanor went first. She got on her right wrist, “It is unknown in a sense”, as she squeezed Padriac’s hand tightly. It was his turn next, and he had requested the same thing as she did, and she held his hand. 

They were driving again, and only this time they stopped at the spotting of old friends. “IOAN” called out Padriac, as Eleanor slammed the brakes. Ioan laughed, and Padriac jumped out of the car. Eleanor, turned off the car, and came out. “It’s nice to see you!”said the redhead.Eleanor smiled and nodded. “Ele, this is Ioan. Ioan Ele.” “Nice to meet you.” said Eleanor. “And to you.” 

Then coming out of the house was Caradoc, Theodora, and Tumnus. Eleanor lit up at the sight of Tumnus! “Tummy!” called out Eleanor. “Eleanor Jamie!” The two hugged, and Padriac greeted their old friends. 

Ava was inside and Eleanor smiled at her old friend who was with her girlfriend(which she assumed), Lucy and friend Asture. Padriac and Eleanor, went into a guest room, while they were all setting up, for some shindig. 

The two began kissing passionately, and Eleanor felt Padriac pull her close, and Eleanor ran her hands through his dirty blonde hair. They began moving closer to the bed, and Eleanor pulled away for a moment, taking him in for a second. This was what she wanted-to be with him, for the rest of her life. “Let’s get married.” said Eleanor in almost a whisper. Padriac smiled and said “What happened to being engaged till death. “ She smiled and said “I changed my mind. Let’s get married. Tonight.” He smiled and kissed her. 

The two ran out to everyone, and spoke of the news. “Aye, I guess we’re having a wedding.” said Caradoc. “Who’s ordained here?” asked Ava. Theodora piped up, and said “I can get ordained right now on the internet!” Ava and Tumnus then grabbed Eleanor, and they ran out to the car, and began looking through the pile of clothing. They found a white floral print dress for Eleanor, and, Tumnus picked flowers to put in Eleanor’s hair. When the sunset, Padriac changed into a suit, and Eleanor changed into the dress and put flowers in her hair. 

They were out on the backyard as Tumnus walked her down, and Theodora began officiating. They said their vows, and Theodora officially married them. “Do you Eleanor Jamie Bayker take Padriac Aeryus?” asked Theodora. “I do.” “Do you Padriac Aeryus take Eleanor Jamie Bayker to be her lawfully wedded husband?” “I do.” “If anyone objects this couple, then you’re a fucking idiot!” yelled Ioan cutting off Theodora. Everyone bursted into laughter, and Theodora shrugged. “He’s right! Well I pronounce you two husband and wife!” The two kissed, and danced the night away. 

As everyone else fell asleep, Padriac put in the headphones, for them both, and played classical music. “My parents danced to this at their wedding.” said Padriac as they slow danced. She smiled and said “I love you,” “Ele, if you say that too many times it’ll loose its meaning.” said Padriac, as his glasses were on again. “But I think that as long as I’m with you, it’ll never loose its meaning.” 

The two finished dancing, and realized it was nearly three am and everyone was either asleep or passed out from hard drinking.
