The animation (animatic?) with my characters.
p.s.: a boy is Bert and a girl is Reyz.
Still thinking about biologically plausible pegasuses and I have two ideas for how they could work as a four-limbed vertebrate, they'd be about the size and lightness of a chevrotain (or mouse-deer) with either pterosaur-style bat wings that aid in quadrupedal locomotion or they've got a gliding patagium supported by enlarged ribs that folds out similar to draco lizards. And they would live high up in the mountains, climbing steep cliffsides like goats and then soaring down.
Do you think winged fantasy creatures like pegasus that really shouldn’t be able to fly are able to do it purely through magic? They just use the wings to steer and look cool? I’m picturing a young pegasus floating around upside-down with wings furled, just to upset the elders, and I am greatly entertained by it.
inktober day 24 - “dizzy”
despite their avian appearance, pegasus are ungulate mammals, distantly related to unicorns and deer. their feathers are much sleeker than those seen in other feathered mammalians, like harpies. there are several species of pegasus, with the largest species having a domestic variant. they only get as large as the average horse (excluding some domestic breeds) but can be as small as a dog depending on species. their plumage is also widely varied and usually very colourful. they live in small hocks in the wild, and give birth to one fletch every year. unlike unicorns, pegasus are timid and usually passive, but are very flighty (hah) and sheepish. they mostly utilize their wings to aid in running up steep slopes, and to migrate to new pastures. most species are herbivorous, but they are known for being more opportunistic than other ungulates, with one species moving towards omnivory. pegasus meat is nothing extraordinary, being tough and gamey, but there is a lot of meat on one animal and they can be easier to spot than deer. their hides are as tough as a horses’ with beautiful feathers and are often made into decorative cloaks or rugs. pictured is a foal who has overindulged in some overripe berries in early autumn.
if you like my work, please consider reblogging and possibly commissioning me (send me a message) or buying me a kofi! 💛

We have been flying without a net all week, and today it caught up to us. Sorry for being late. Just plain forgot to upload one last night.

Winged horses!! Those are epic! Like dude, I would love to ride one of those! To ride a horse or a unicorn while it flies through cotton candy clouds? Like that would be the coolest of cool things to do!
