Fro-yo girl here. Peachwave opened in 2019 and it’s located down the street from the Seal Beach Pier and the beach. It looks like a clean, well-maintained shop, with 10 self-serve flavors a day and a toppings bar that includes all you’d expect including syrups, nuts, fruit, cheesecake, mochi, candy, granola, sprinkles, brownies, popping boba, cookie dough, cookies, Tajin, graham crackers, cereal, coconut, etc. The fruit looked particularly fresh. It’s expensive; 69 cents an ounce. One flavor was missing during my visit.

Raspberry Dole Whip: Smooth, tangy sweet, not too icy, pleasant but it tasted like candy

Peach tart: Creamy and tangy sweet but it tasted like candy

The décor was simple with a tiled wall and Peachwave pictures. I didn’t ask about samples due to COVID-19. There were several signs saying that kids should not serve themselves. Pineapple Dole Whip is the most popular flavor and I think it’s offered at all times.

They also sell snacks (potato chips, cotton candy) and candy. I was given a flyer to show for 15% off future purchases. There were a few chairs outside if you want to eat it there.

Got my top 2 wisdom teeth pulled today and got treated to a park visit and some frozen yogurt...

Fro-yo girl here. Peachwave is a self-serve froyo chain founded in 2009. A new owner and CEO took over in 2015 with the goal of growing the brand. And so, the first Peachwave opened in the land of frozen yogurt (Southern California) recently.

Peachwave Calabasas is in a new strip mall. It’s mostly vacant at the moment. The space is brand new and it looked clean and spacious inside. There were 12 self-serve flavors a day with housemade waffle bowls, cup dividers, toppings, and sauces for 49 cents an ounce. The toppings bar is extensive and included fresh fruit, mochi, popping boba, cookie dough, coconut, candy, cookies, nuts, granola, marshmallows, and sauces. Toppings were labeled.

They use Stoelting soft serve machines. I found the texture to be too soft. The yogurt wasn’t special, but I will say that the customer service was excellent. I think the owner was that I talked to. He offered samples, said I could throw the soft yogurt away and get another cup, provided suggestions for which flavors to get, and more.

Dole lemon: I love lemon everything. This non-dairy sorbet had plenty of lemon flavor but it was very sweet. The fact that it was also somewhat tangy helped a little.

Euro tart: On the bland side for plain tart, but it did have tang

Iced coffee NSA: Pretty good, creamy with really coffee flavor, mellow, more like a cappuccino flavor

I found the froyo flavor selection to be rather boring. I wish the flavors were more interesting and that they had more than one tart flavor.

You can also create your own smoothie or shake, using the clear cups. They have a special, No Weigh Thursdays.
