Found Dead: Hogwarts Student December 2, 1975

Tragedy has struck the students and faculty of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry once more. As things seem to darken around the Wizarding World, it seems our youth are the ones suffering the most.Throughout history there hasn’t been such a frequent amount of loss for the school. Somehow students seem to be in more danger than ever before.

This past weekend Callidora Gibbons, a fifth year Slytherin student, was found dead in an alleyway of Hogsmeade Village. Alongside her was fifth year Gryffindor, Magdalen Dabney, who is currently in recovering at St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries. Both Muggleborn witches were in the village for one of Hogwarts’ treasured Hogsmeade weekends.

No one in the Auror department is willing to give word on just what caused this tragedy or who caused it. A full investigation is underway and the Ministry plans a press conference as soon as more information is discovered.

Another Girl in St Mungo’s December 2, 1975

Magdalen Dabney was quickly admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. Her family arrived shortly after with Headmaster Dumbledore and Head of Gryffindor House Minerva McGonagall. The family has chosen to not comment on the condition of their daughter but a healer within says that it will take a while before the girl is up and ready to return home, let alone return to Hogwarts. As of Monday, she is being treated and currently in a coma-like state.

Hogwarts Reacts: No More Hogsmeade Weekends December 2, 1975

Students were unexpectedly sent back to Hogwarts Sunday afternoon after the corpse of Callidora Gibbons and the injured Magdalen Dabney were discovered. Since then, students are ordered to not leave the grounds as well as a strict curfew has been instated. Until further notice, students are not permitted to Hogsmeade Village. With the holidays upcoming, this could cause a decrease in returning students after winter break. According to Headmaster Dumbledore, no parents have pulled their children out of school and he reminds everyone that Hogwarts is still safe.

DEATH IN HOGSMEADE November 29, 1975

Famous writer, Cadmus Cadwallder, was found dead this afternoonwithin his room at The Three Broomsticks. Not only was Sir Cadwallder arenowned writer of both magical and muggle stories but also a generous and entertaining wizard. Always willing to help out a friend as well as an acquaintance, Cadwallder leaves behind many friends. Writers of the Daily Prophet also mourn the loss of a man who always was willing to partake in interviews or book reviews. It has been speculated that he was also engaged to muggle singer part of the group Pussycat, Toni Wille.

No word yet on the nature of his death but sources speculate that foul-play was at hand. Not only was he a firm moral man but as a wizard he was outward against the newest threat to the Wizarding World, Lord Voldemort and his deatheaters. Those who saw him last believe he was meeting with a potential co-author, yet, no one has come forward as to whom that was.

No word from the Ministry yet as to their opinion on both the death of a celebrity and also on the Dark Lord. Madam Rosmerta says she had nothing to do with the tragedy and does not want her patrons to feel like they are in any danger. “Business will go on as usual,” says Three Brooksticks owner.

Miranda was bouncing on her heels as she waited outside the Catchlove residence. The first few weeks of summer holiday had been boring for her; she missed the freedom of the castle and definitely missed being able to find a random person to do something with when she got bored. Plus, it was harder to hide out in the Fawley home. There were only so many places she could hole up for a few hours without being disturbed.

"Miri you should come tonight!" The blonde girl beside her was someone Miri valued more than most, but at that moment, she really wanted to run away. The look in Lucy’s eyes meant Miranda had no way of escaping.

"I don’t know Luc, I’m really not in the mood for a party." She shoved her binders into her locker and sighed.

"It’ll be fun! Plus," There was a hint of something in the girl’s tone that made her look at her, "Otto will be going." Miranda glared at her friend and slammed her locker shut.

"That was a cheap shot and you know it."

"I know. So you’ll come right?" Miranda sighed and adjusted her bag over her shoulder. Tugging her zipper up on her jacket, Miranda rolled her eyes as she walked off towards the exit. "Miri?" Lucy followed beside her and nudged the brunette’s arm.

"Alright. But! If I’m not having any fun then I’m leaving. Regardless if certain persons are there or not."

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." The grin on Lucy’s face made Miranda’s own hesitations flutter away for the moment.

"And what great mind said that?"
