Fiberuary day 13 - (Hey, I haven't got super lazy and bailed on this yet. Go me!) Prompt is influencer. Well, I started knitting in 2004. I took a class at Dee's here in Louisville. At that time they carried yarn. (Later on in my knitting life I happily worked and taught there.) Aside from those lessons, I learned so much by reading Debbie Stoller's first Stitch N Bitch book from cover to cover (more than once). I loved her conversational style and the way she made all of the techniques approachable and fun. My one regret about that is I bought a buttload (technical term) of those long metal needles that she preferred to use, and I wouldn't dream of using them now. They are fine needles, but that is just not the way I knit. Another influence early on was Veronik Avery. Love her work. I just downloaded her "Fathom" sweater pattern. It seems to not be overly popular, but it is so cool! Go figure. I adore the shaping on the front bands. Now to dig up the yarn to do it justice.
