After learning about Elon Musk's latest child, I've decided that he is the white version of Doro from Octavia Butler's Patternist series. Trying to spread his genes far and wide while being minimally involved in the lives of some of his children (actively hostile to some), God complex...it's uncanny.

Rosevile Beach Reads Octavia Butler
So on r-rook.studio, I’ve been building an Appendix N for Moonlight on Roseville Beach by looking at what genre paperbacks might show up in the town’s Paperback Exchange in 1979.
This time, I'm looking at Octavia Butler's exploration of a psionically powered far future that has its roots in very personal stories of people blessed and cursed by psi phenomena in the 20th century: The Patternist Series.
This is a series about beach reads in the summer of 1979: pop fiction and pulp fiction that might show up on the shelves of Sandy Perez’
The part of me that knows that Doro literally isn't human (he has to eat ppl to stay alive), therefor, human morality can't be applied to him; is constantly at war with the part of me that knows that Doro is the literal living embodiment of violent patriarchy. The way that violent patriarchy persists is by us making excuses for its existence instead of refusing its presence entirely.
How can we blame Doro for acting inhumane when he isn't human?
But How can we as the readers and as sympathizers with Doro's victims not demand more from him considering how human his needs and desires are?

Octavia E. Butler: Patternmaster.
I am thinking Horde Prime had an origin like Doro from Octavia Butler's Patternmaster books - a mutant who is able to live long by snatching bodies, who is selectively breeding humans with special powers and stealing their bodies. Who is viewed as a god by these humans, who are happy to sacrifice everything for him.
But Doro had Anyanwu to temper him. Who knows if Horde Prime had someone once.
