So you're black and you want to see black media from anywhere in the world. I got u.
I'm starting this lil thing where we shout out black media (from anywhere !! So long as it's made by black and features black people predominantly and/or discusses blackness) we watched recently and recommend it to others.
I'll start: have you watched Neptune Frost (2021) yet ?
About university students and coltan miners getting together to become a hacker group as a means for rebellion against fascist authorities ? A musical wherein black queerness is at the forefront of revolution and disrespect of anyone is not only addressed but also nipped at the bud. It's colourful, it's full of emotion, it takes place in Burundi and is all around quite an experience.
YOU CAN WATCH IT ON KANOPY !! Either though a university/college or via the public library.
Everyone is welcome to add on to this btw. It doesn't have to be a movie, so long as it's BLACK MEDIA. Pleaseeeeeee gush about black media.
