The Exit You Didnât Know You Had
(Switching Out of the âIâll Start Laterâ Loop)
Thereâs a specific kind of exhaustion that doesnât come from doing too muchâŚ
It comes from thinking about doing something - over and over - without ever moving.
If youâre here, you know that feeling.
Youâve told yourself:
âI donât exercise enough.â
âI really need to work out.â
âIâll start when things settle down.â
âI mean⌠whatâs the point at this stage?â
And the interesting part?
None of those thoughts are loud.
Theyâre not dramatic.
Theyâre quiet. Familiar. Almost reasonable.
Thatâs what makes them powerful.
This Space Isnât for Motivation
If youâre reading The Mystic Missionary, youâre not looking for surface-level hype.
Youâre someone who:
⢠notices your own patterns
⢠feels when something is slightly off, even if you canât name it yet
⢠understands that your body, your mind, and your choices are connected
You donât need someone yelling âjust do it.â
You need something that cuts through the noise cleanly.
Something that works with your awarenessâŚ
Not against it.
The Real Problem Isnât Discipline
Letâs be honest.
Youâre not avoiding movement because youâre lazy.
Youâre avoiding it because:
⢠itâs been tied to pressure
⢠itâs been tied to identity (âIâm not that type of personâ)
⢠itâs been tied to outcomes that feel far away
So your system does what itâs designed to do:
It delays.
Not because youâre incapableâŚ
but because youâve made movement mean too much.
So We Change the Signal
Instead of arguing with those thoughtsâŚ
We replace the loop entirely.
Not with affirmations.
Not with long routines.
With something simpler. Cleaner. Direct.
FLEX â MOVE â DONE
Thatâs it.
Why This Works (Without Overcomplicating It)
FLEX
You soften the internal resistance.
Youâre no longer locked into âI donât / I canât.â
You allow changeâwithout forcing it.
MOVE
No negotiation.
No planning spiral.
Just motion.
Your body understands movement faster than your mind understands intention.
DONE
This is where everything shifts.
You remove the weight of âI need to do a full workout.â
You give your system completion immediately.
And once something feels completeâŚ
youâre far more likely to continue.
What This Looks Like in Real Life
Youâre sitting. Thinking about working out. Not moving.
Instead of spiraling:
FLEX⌠MOVE⌠DONE.
You stand up.
Thatâs it.
Maybe you stretch.
Maybe you walk to the kitchen.
Maybe you step outside for 30 seconds.
That counts.
And hereâs the part most people miss:
That counts is what rebuilds trust.
For the Days That Feel Heavier
Some days carry more weight.
More resistance. More emotion.
On those days, you extend the sequence:
REACH â FLEX â MOVE â DONE
REACH
You interrupt the loop.
You open the possibility that something else is available.
Then you continue as usual.
Letâs Tell the Truth, Gently
Youâre not too old.
Youâre not too far gone.
Youâre not behind.
Youâre just used to linking movement with pressure instead of permission.
And your body has been responding accordingly.
So we change the relationship.
Not through forceâŚ
but through consistency that feels safe enough to repeat.
The Shift Youâll Notice
If you use this - casually, consistently - youâll feel it.
Not all at once.
But subtly.
Youâll stop having long internal debates.
Youâll move sooner.
Quieter.
Without needing to convince yourself first.
And one day, almost without realizing itâŚ
Youâll be someone who moves.
Not because you âfinally got disciplined.â
But because it stopped being a question.
Try This, Exactly Once Today
Donât plan a full routine.
Donât wait for the perfect window.
Just notice the moment you think about itâŚ
âŚand instead of continuing the thought:
FLEX â MOVE â DONE.
Let that be enough.
For now, thatâs how this begins.
The Power of Pattern Interrupt: Unlocking Change in Psychology

I really hate when things get moved around or I can't find shit.
Like this morning I went to make my tea. Simple process.... Heat up water, get out packet for my chai, steep it, put honey and milk in. Simple.
I looked for the honey while it was steeping. Couldn't find it. Or sugar . Thought "ok, I have a few options: 1) skip sweetners and just not enjoy my tea as much as I would like, 2) try to find something else I can use, 3) ask a roommate if they know where it is".
So I walked away and ate my breakfast and returned to do the final steps. One of my roommates came out so I asked them if they have seen the honey. They said no. Then my other roommate who had over heard walked into her room and grabbed it. I asked why she had it in her room and she got defensive then laughed.
I told her that I would appreciate it if it would stay in the kitchen so I can find it when I need it that way it doesn't create unnecessary steps. She laughed and said that I'm capable of doing the steps. But that isn't the point.
The point is that I had planned for x, y, and z. When y was disturbed I had to do other steps to make up for that. Steps I shouldn't have had to do.
She wasn't understanding so I left to go to college going to take the T in so I wouldn't have to pay $9 to park on campus. Was almost to the T when I realized that I forgot my mask. Which I need to get onto the T and also to go to class. So I had to THEN stop to spend $8 to get masks that I otherwise wouldn't have had to buy. All because of the honey.
