Call for Pattern Help! (Knitting)
I am making the medium size of the below sleeve pattern, which is the first number INSIDE the parentheses.
I have cast on 41 stitches, and after the final increase I should have 65 stitches. However, the math ain't mathin'. As I read this pattern, it should be 41 + 1 + 11... which only totals 53.
Can someone tell me where the extra 12 stitches are supposed to come from?

I reaaaaally want to make an Ornstein cosplay for the next con but now I'm regretting it, found a 3d model of my beloved lion and put it on pepakura and God why do he has so many polygons??? I'm doing a paper mock up of the helm and it's udjaiakafkflwlal insane. I'm making the upper part and I want to kill myself already. I asked for help to a friend who knows how to use blender (they're still learning) and see if the model can be simplified. Asking the crochet hivemind if they've seen this pattern. I think it may be vintage or something from beyond 2000. But I can't find it on reverse image search or ravelry or Etsy.

I am attempting to make a pair of gloves(this pair if you are truly curious), and I've come across an abbreviation the pattern and Google provides no explaination for:
It asks me to "Divide sts as follows" and then gives the abbreviation N1/N2/N3
Divide how? With stitch markers at those points I would assume but if that is the case then why not just say PM for place marker?

"working *behind* the third row"
(I would just flip it around)
"chain 5, slip stitch in next triple crochet. Repeat 8 times ending with a slip stitch at the beginning of the row"
(Slip stitch the ch 5s to each Triple Crochet)
You should have a row of loops on the *wrong side* of the square, parallel to the petals

I found a pattern which is the right size but I'm having trouble reading it:
1. MR with 6 SC (6)
2. INC x 6 (12)
3-4. (SC 12) x 2 RNDS (12)
5. CH 3, SC 16 (16)
6.
a. SLST 2 *SLST through both sides of the thumb
b. (SC 2, INV DEC) x 3
Do you know how I'd form the ch3 (should I skip stitches or not)? The pattern is this one:

Unfortunately I can't make heads or tails of that pattern. It looks like it was written by someone who doesn't normally work with written patterns (their initial discussion about what to call a double increase is a factor in my making that call, yes.) And so while I'm sure the pattern works, and isn't even that hard to do if you know what it calls for, it probably requires more crochet knowledge than I have to figure it out.
So today has started off with me seeing this dress:
And I NEED IT. As in I need to make it. But I’m coming up blank on patterns. It’s a shirt dress, cut on the bias, probably made of linen. It looks super flattering and comfortable: A+ for Emma.
Anyone have any pattern ideas? Or ideas to find other photos of the dress I could use to try to copy it?
