Oh. Hello. It is I, your internet grandma. I been making shit. Like this buckit hat. I had a bunch of fat yarn in my stash, and I saw this pattern on Pinterest (How To Crochet A Chunky Yarn Bucket Hat - Krissys Over The Mountain Crochet, and I thought - why not? I'm tired of working on those Endless Cardigans. I should make something I can finish in a day. As a treat. So I did.
Then I got back to work on those cardigans - one crocheted, one knitted - and yesterday and today I got them finished. AT LAST.
Here's the crocheted one - I call it my Wild Horses Cardi:
This was my take on Toni Lipsey's Rose Cardigan (How To Crochet a Colorful Granny Square Cardigan [Rose Cardigan] - TL Yarn Crafts) - I used up a bunch of DK weight yarn I had in my stash - I got inspired by a series of photographs of wild horses, and took my color inspo from them. I started it on 17 June this year, and like I said - I just finished it yesterday. Super soft and really comfy.
Here's sort of how it looks when worn.
Then today I finished the knitted cardi I started back on 2 April of this year - it was a free pattern on the lionbrand.com site (Navaeh Cardigan (Knit) – Lion Brand Yarn):
I honestly thought I'd give up on this back in August, but I'm no quitter (even when I reasonably should). It turned out pretty okay - it's cozy warm in spite of being fairly lightweight. Made it with two skeins of LB Mandala bonus bundle in the "Cyclops" colorway, edging it with some DK Wool-Ease in black.
One of these days I'll figure out how to take a decent selfie. Anyway, it'll be a long time before I try my hand at another sweater. Next up in the basket: A hooded scarf for my daughter-person, and maybe a big ol' fluffy afghan for me - both in Tunisian crochet. 'Cuz that looks like fun. 🧶
In the meantime, keep warm out there, kids.

The matching hat is now done! I wanna make something to hide that one orange cluster among the murky ones because it looks so out of place lmao
Asking the crochet hivemind if they've seen this pattern. I think it may be vintage or something from beyond 2000. But I can't find it on reverse image search or ravelry or Etsy.
Am trying to help a friend find it. She loves this hat and wants to make her own as she found this one in a thrift store.
The hat is worked in the round and the scarf is attached to it pretty seamlessly.
Completed this pattern again 😁 This time in @threetreesfibrecrafts ‘Scones with jam & cream’ 😁 Which lived up to its name as I wanted to eat each stitch 😁 It is a gorgeous colourway 😁 Many thanks to @societyknits for dropping it into my instagram feed and instigating a severe need to have it and have it now 😁 I’m likely going to make this pattern again and then write it up, if anyone wants it 😁

Plaid is tricky when it’s 1) only mimicking plaid because it’s not a woven 2) on a very small scale and 3) you have to make a bunch of weird increases in weird places because the sweater is for a roundish dinosaur. But it was the kind of tricky that’s fun and it turned out so cute! Yes I did write a full special pattern including different mods for a dinosaur sweater 😂
I made a set of fingerless gloves and a hat!!
I used this pattern here and modified it to be stockinette on the hand and shorted it a little bit, but I love the ribbing on the cuffs
