A creature craves the taste of life
Lapping blood from it's open wounds
Nursing injuries from the womb
Setting traps to protect it's tomb
Wishing to be saved
It moves in haste
With reckless abandon
Trampling villages near and far
Lashing out at random
A spear stuck in it's backside
Blessed by an angelÂ
Removed by priestessÂ
Seeing things from a different angleÂ
The creature bows a head to it's saviorÂ
And follows teachings from a temple ment to reign in it's behaviorÂ
It's only sustenance the suffering it sees without and feels within
And feels an uncomfortable hunger laying eyes on its new friend
The only food it's ever known has offered a way out
And faced with a choice in itself there is new doubt
What is strengthÂ
What is justiceÂ
What am I if not the antithesisÂ
When all comes crashing down how do I make sense of this
Questions without answers
As the creature lashes out
Finds another savoir
And begins to mope and pout
Caught in a cycle, product of it's environmentÂ
Moved to greener pasturesÂ
It's only hope is to try again
And navigate it's patterns
Failure only sticks when hope is lost
