GREGORY YATES ,  that infamous serial killer that took chicago p.d and new york’s svu to get him behind bars.  not only that ,  but the detective knew her partner had some sort of personal ties to the killer.  something violent ,  something that mia saw in herself from time to time.  “   are you gonna go back to chicago  ?   ”  duty over everything right  ?  “  heard that’s where he’s headin’.   ”

there’s  a  hint  of  amusement  tinging  piper’s  voice.   studies  erin  just  once,  before  moving  her  gaze  TO  THE  CIGARETTE  in  her  hands.  flicking  away  ashes.   she’s  just  sitting  outside  of  the  office  /  home,  listening  to  nat  shout  about  the  news.   the  kid’s  A  LITTLE  TOO  GOOD  at  handing  out  newspapers.   in  fact,  nat  doesn’t  even  pause,  doesn’t  act  like  she  recognizes  nat.   just  continues  forward,  always.   give  her  a  couple  seconds,  CURIOSITY  IT  GOING  TO  KICK  IN. 

     Is she really using his own words against him? Consider his ass tanned. He fills up with rage much like a hot-air balloon, cheeks & ears burning red while his lungs shrivel into blackness. ( Not to be overly dramatic, of course. ) It’s his own fault for flying off the handle, saying some shit he shouldn’t have. Not once did he ever think he’d threaten her life but fast-paced moments laced with day-old tangles of a fucked up love affair seems to unlock the very worst in Roman. Certainly not his finest moment but even with his anger, the kingpin does not deny Erin the right to reprimand.

coiled   chocolate   tresses   fall   betwixt   vision   ,   shielding   nut - brown    irises   from   her   the   shadow   of   her   stare   .   the   ills   of   a   past   since   forgotten   ,    the  treachery   of   a    spilt   gut   ,    victimised   by   a   tale   ill   -  treatment   .    the   horror   of   it   all   designs   him   a   glorious   new   persona    ,    he’s   pious   .    a  tragedy   writ   the   lineaments   of   his    being   ----   ready   to   enact   the   deviancy  of   a   concealed   harlequin    &    begin   his   rightful   revenge   .   he’s   a   constellation   derived   from   afflictions   conquered,    a   pieced   division   sewn   back   together   with   the   raggedness   of   a   cast - away   doll   .   it   aches   ,   the   healed   split   of   his   abdomen   .   several   times   has   spencer   been   a   finger - width   away   from   a   famished   foe   ,   ready   to   feast   upon   his   flesh   ,   simply   because   he   was   doubled   over   with   the   familiar   anguish   of   innards   forcibly   returned   to   his   torso   .   it’s   a  burden   of   non - deserve.

christmas was that time of year where families come together ,  eat and celebrate the holiday.  hopefully politics were wiped from everyone’s conversation because that seemed to be the ONLY way people could get along.  but her family was a bit different ,  italian’s were always big and loud and always yelling at each other   (   even if they were just having a normal conversation.   )   mia remember’s when she was younger she would visit her family in italy with her parents.  but for some time now ,  the relatives that live in florence came to new york instead.  it just wasn’t christmas until her all the women in her family tried talking her into dating some guy who was a son of a friend of a friend.  or having christmas without her zio giuseppe’s dad joke’s.  after all was said and done ,  and mia was COMPLETELY stuffed.  she went to erin’s to spend the rest of her night there ,  keeping her company   (   when knowing her holiday’s were usually spent alone.   )  mia had been drinking already ,  so she already had the bottle of whiskey in her hand.  the cap was already screwed off when erin told her to just drink from the bottle.   she emits a short hum ,   “   i’m way ahead of ya’ ,   ”   she says before taking a full swig.  eyes shut while she BRAVES the burn that comes with drinking whiskey.   “   fuck it   …   just bring two glasses ,  we’ll drink it out of there.   ”   there’s a beat and then she turns in the couch to face the other woman.   “   we should watch nightmare on elm street.   ”

“   yeah ,  no fuckin’ shit erin  !   ”   excuse her sudden outburst ,  but as you can imagine she was in tremendous pain.  sympathize with her for just a second while she attempts to IGNORE this sharp pain in her left calf.  mia leans against a wheel-less car ,  one of many in the junkyard where cars go to be crushed and piled.  scraps of metal and beyond the lot was the hudson ,  so the smell of the river filled the air.  her hands clasped around her leg ,  trying to keep the pressure on the wound that was pouring with blood.  head leans back against the rusted metal ,  air pulled in through her teeth as she braces for the continuous wave of agony.  for a week or so ,  the detectives were focused on their case ,  one that involved a gang related murder   (   or so it seemed ,  there was a lot of twists and turns in the case.   )   they reviewed files ,  continued to get evidence when and where they could.  and interrogated   /   interviewed witnesses and potential suspects.  eventually ,  it all came down to tracking down one man who seemed to have a big connection to the case.  so they went to find him ,  and when they did ,  right when they called out to him.  he started to run ,  to which both mia and erin went to run after him.  after chasing him into this junkyard ,  it was like searching for a needle in a haystack.  he could have been anywhere ,  but his mistake is what gave him away.  and mia went after him ,  ahead of erin               despite her partner’s protests to wait for her.  

the rest of what happened was self explanatory ,  though mia wasn’t entirely in the line of fire.  she only got hit with a stray bullet because it ricocheted off one of the cars.  and despite her injury ,  she still squeezed the trigger of her gun.  though ,  there was no luck   …   the guy was out of view.   “   don’t worry about me ,  go get the fucker  !   ”  she said while gesturing erin to go when she she was kneeling down in front of her and radioing for backup and the emt.
