METRO MANILA SUBWAY. A pipe dream that is now turning into a reality, as the country's first-ever underground mass transport system broke ground on February 2019. Stretching across 36-kilometers, the rail line will run from Mindanao Avenue in Quezon City to NAIA Terminal 3 in Pasay City, reducing travel time from 1 hour and 10 minutes to just 45 minutes. Did you know that plans to establish a subway network for Metro Manila dates as far back as the 1970s, when it was first proposed under the Urban Transport Study in Manila Metropolitan Area (UTSMMA, 1973)? Past administrations started a Preliminary Feasibility Study, but did not actively pursue the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP). It was only in August 2017 that the current administration completed the Detailed Feasibility Study for the MMSP, and obtained NEDA Board approval for the Project in September 2017. In February 2020, other components of the Tunnel Boring Machine for the subway were unveiled, marking the start of the subway's construction phase. Good News! Sa tulong ng MAKABAGONG TEKNOLOHIYA, tapos na ang panahon ng REPUBLIKANG WALANG PLAKA! MAAARI NANG MAKUHA ang mga plaka para sa mga 4-wheel vehicle na in-apply noong ika-1 ng Hulyo 2016 hanggang nitong Abril 2019. Ayon kay Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief Edgar Galvante, sa ngayon, umabot na sa 1,774,474 na pares ng plaka ang nagawa ng bagong automated at manual plate-making machine ng ahensya. Giit ni Asec. Galvante, bibili pa ang ahensya ng isa pang plate-making robot para punan naman ang kakulangan sa plaka ng mga motorsiklo. Kayang mag-produce ng bagong plate-making robot nang aabot sa 700 plaka kada oras. Dagdag pa ng LTO Chief, sa Luzon ready na ang mga plaka hanggang Disyembre, maliban sa NCR, Region 3 at 4A na may plaka hanggang Setyembre 2019. Kukumpletuhin daw ang mga ito sa mga susunod na buwan. Sa bahagi ng Visayas at Mindanao ay ready ang mga plaka hanggang December 2019. Target ng ahensya na sa darating na Oktubre, mabigyan ang lahat ng sasakyan, bago man o luma, ng bagong plaka.
