How Rude would react to his significant other taking care of him while he has a sickness. (Although this one is more catching the sickness before it happens but either way, it’s adorable so if you want some Rude fluff I got you)
Rude x reader (caretaker)
Every morning was the same. You woke up to Rude kissing your forehead and informing that he had to leave then but not before he told you he loved you. This morning was different however, as when your eyes opened, you didn’t find Rude kissing you good morning and beckoning you a goodbye as he would leave for work. Instead, you awoke to the smell of freshly made coffee and a bare bed.
Making your way to the source of the welcoming smell, you rubbed your tired eyes before blinking them to find your boyfriend in black dress pants and a half buttoned - half not white work shirt. It appears he had dressed to go to work but stopped partway through? You decided to question this, perhaps you had finally woken up earlier than he and could see (him) off to work.
When your hands met his back, your worries came to choke you. He was breathing heavily, something he never did unless he wasn’t feeling well or he had a very bad day at work. Seeing as it was in the early morning and when he returned home the night prior from his job, there was nothing wrong; you were afraid he was getting sick.
That, as every other thing in Rude’s life, he handled well so there was no worry in that aspect of his sickness, but the part that did worry you was he always tried to work through it. Literally. Rude didn’t know when to not show up when the job called for it and inevitably, it would get him even sicker than he already was.
When you observed how sloppy he was dressed—compared to his usual well kept self, you knew your worries were justified.
“Hey, Rude. Feeling okay?” Your whisper against his back made his breathing somehow ease and when your hands slid around his waist in order to hold him close, he grunted. The vibrations sent a warm sensation along your chest while he spoke.
“A bit under the weather, Y/N but I should be fine.” His deep voice enlightening your ears but there was an anxiousness you couldn’t help but point out.
“You always say that,” you pried, hoping you could somehow keep him from going to the place which would only make his sickness more aggressive. “Maybe it would be best if you got some rest and didn’t go into work today.” Rude was silent for a moment, mutely pouring his coffee into a mug and asking you if you also wanted a cup. “Sure,” you accepted but when the grip around his waist tightened, he felt obliged to respond to your past concern.
“I assure you, Y/N it will not hinder my performance as a Turk.” He adeptly turned while still in the vice grip of your arms. Now, chest to chest, he stared deep into your eyes without his signature shades on so you could see every emotion they usually hid. “I promise, I will be fine. I do appreciate your concern.” There was the kiss on your forehead that you had been robbed of this morning and it did bring a smile to your face.
“I know your job comes before us,” there was a sadness to your tone but not without a deep gaze of understanding. “I’m completely okay with that because I love you, Rude.” His eyes twitched ever so slightly, informing you without words that he is deeply moved by that statement. “But you need to learn to take a day off when you don’t feel well. Even if it is only when you’re under the weather. It happens so rarely that it shouldn’t be too big of a deal.” Your desperation must have been obvious to hear but Rude didn’t judge you nor did he make a point to ignore your concerns. He placed the mugs behind him on the counter before gliding his bare palms along your cheeks. Leaning down, his lips met yours with a passionate hold and you didn’t ever want to let him stop. When your fingers met his wrists, he pulled back with a smile.
“Okay, Y/N. I won’t go in today.” Your look of surprise must have amused him because before you knew it, he was laughing quietly before you as he stroked your cheekbone with his thumb.
“Wait, seriously?” You asked, dumbfounded as you truly didn’t expect him to give in so easily.
“Reno will be quite upset, but I’m sure he’ll live.” There was a hesitation between the two of you.
“No, he won’t.” You both admitted at the same time, which earned a laugh from both mouths.
“Thank you, babe.” You grinned while then reaching behind him to take the coffee he made for you. His eyes never left yours, and the very faint bags under his eyelids made you melancholy. “How about, no matter what you need today, I’ll get it for you. Medicine, drinks, food, cuddles—“ he laughed to that little slip of a joke you made. “Anything you need, I’ll be here for you.” Rude wrapped an arm around the back of your waist to pull you even closer than you already were. With your faces merely an inch apart, he whispered against your lips.
“Even if I only ask for your mouth on mine?” He was definitely spending too much time with Reno... And you did not mind at all. Chuckling to his intentions, you smirked and did exactly as he wanted. After another long kiss, you answered his question.
“Only if you’re a good boy and get some rest first.” The chuckle he gave bounced against your own chest due to the close proximity of your bodies and it only made you want him more however you knew his recovery was more important than what he desired and he was also aware of the same. “Come on,” you slid your hands on his bare chest in between the open work shirt, ironically as Reno would usually have his. “Drink up your coffee, I’m gonna go to the store and get you some pills and when I get back we’ll do some cuddling. Sound good?” Rude’s lips peaked into a smirk while you spoke to him and he became infatuated by how you desired to take care of him in his weakened state. Despite being aware of how to take care of himself during these rare times of sickness, he allowed you to do as you wanted because it made you feel better and at the end of the day, that was all he wanted.
