What is 80 20 Rule? How can it help you grow?
What is 80 20 Rule? It’s a simple rule, which says “80% of the output/results are the outcome of 20% of input/efforts.
Also known as The Law of the vital few or The Pareto’s principle.
Named after the popular Italian economist who first observed this, Mr. Vilfredo Pareto (1848-1923).
In 1895, Pareto observed that 80% of the wealth in Italy was under the control of 20% of its Population.
Later Dr. Joseph Juran, an eminent personality in operations management, pointed out that the Pareto’s Principle is a Universal phenomenon and applies to anything and everything. The term “Vital few and useful many” was also coined by Dr. Juran.
Examples of 80 20 rule
20% of your Stocks or assets will generate 80% of the Wealth
80% of Revenue comes from 20% of the Customers
20% of the Blog posts bring in 80% of the total traffic
80% of the engagement comes from 20% of the audience
20% of the syllabus makes the 80% of the question paper
How can the Pareto principle help you grow?
Understanding the 80 20 Rule is fairly important to fuel your growth, as the 80 20 Rule says that 80% of results will come from 20% of your efforts, or 80% of your returns will come from 20% of your assets.
Alternatively, 80% of your efforts will only generate 20% of your results or 80% of your assets will only generate 20% of the returns.
Your goal as an individual should be to redirect your efforts and time from that less productive 80% to the More productive or vital 20%.
How can you adopt the 80 20 rule?
Simple answer is POAE.
Prioritizing
Outsourcing
Automation; and
Elimination
Prioritizing the vital 20% of the tasks, which produces 80% of the results, can bring drastic changes in the outcome.
Outsourcing or automating your less productive 80% efforts buys you your time to focus on vital 20%.
Eliminating the 80% of assets that generate 20% of returns and investing the surplus money in that 20% of assets that generate 80% of returns can be very profitable.
However, by this, I don’t mean that sell off all your low returns investments, as we need to invest some of the portion of our portfolio in low-risk instruments to hedge the overall portfolio, and such low-risk instruments naturally give fewer returns, but it is important and healthy for your portfolio and shouldn’t be eliminated. However, managing the weightage of your investment can optimize your returns.

Conclusion
To conclude, the 80 20 Rule is a powerful concept to improve your efficiency, the objective is to shift the focus from 100% of the tasks to the vital 20% tasks which will give you the 80% of the result, and to channelize the efforts from non vital 80% to vital 20% and see your growth skyrocketing.

The Neo-Anarchist’s Guide to North America for Shadowrun (1st Edition). Introduction.
Having started our sixth world geographic journey in Seattle and venturing beyond into the Native American Nations (Volume 1 and 2), we now finish our tour of the North American continent with the Neo-Anarchist’s Guide to North America (NAGNA).
It begins as all good cyberpunk RPG supplements should, with a microeconomical discussion of goods, utility, and Pareto optimization, complete with supply & demand graphs and Edgewood Exchange boxes.
Your typical shadowrunner looking for new places to blow up with their Ingram Smartgun will open this book and have the same reaction that King Arthur did encounter the constitutional peasants:
I jest, but one thing I’ve enjoyed about Shadowrun is the willingness to go dive deep on some detail that other games might have bothered with:
In the core rulebook, there is an entire page with hundreds of languages for PCs to choose from, and added Linnaean Classifications to paranormal animals.
Shadowtech, which would introduce bioware, was written by an actual MEDICAL DOCTOR and gives an introduction to the human bodies organ systems that rivals any college professors.
(and I’m a college professor, so I know)
The Guide covers most of the other sovereign nations of North America in 2050:
United Canadian and American States (UCAS) – which is the successor to the USA as far as we’re concerned.
Yeah, this was right way to go with the flag.
Confederated States of America (CSA) – which is absolutely NOT the Confederacy back from the Civil War, but you know… come on…
Their eyes met from across the smoky downtown Birmingham watering hole, then each caught each other’s Confederate Battle Flag… Yes… they were an economically anxious match made in heaven.
California Free State (CFS) – which really should have gone its own way LONG ago.
Admit it: a glazed pepperoni pizza donut sounds delicious.
Québec -- Finalement! Nous sommes libres! Attends, on est nul maintenant!
Rick Harris has a lot of art in this book. With a lot of checkerboard backgrounds.
IA - Watashi no Aishita Kimi /You whom I loved
Tú a quien amé
Con tu cristalina voz y largo cabello
Me sentí atraída a tí a primera vista
Seamos amigas me dijiste
Te acercaste a mí y estallaste en desaliñadas lágrimas
Tentativamente pasé mi mano por tu cabello
Ahora corto
「Puedo protegerte」
Dije y sostuve tu tembloroso cuerpo
Alguien a quien amo, mi amada
Si fuera yo no he haría llorar así
Todavía no sabes nada

Want to know what is the 80/20 rule in time management? Then you’re in the right place. You’ve no doubt heard of the Pareto Principle.
Pareto principle
The Pareto principle (also known as the 80/20 rule, the law of the vital few, or the principle of factor sparsity)[1][2] states that, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.[3]Management consultant Joseph M. Juran suggested the principle and named it after Italian economist Vilfredo Pareto, who noted the 80/20 connection while at the University of Lausanne in 1896, as published in his first work, Cours d'économie politique. Essentially, Pareto showed that approximately 80% of the land in Italy was owned by 20% of the population.
It is an axiom of business management that "80% of sales come from 20% of clients".[4] Richard Koch authored the book, The 80/20 Principle, which illustrated some practical applications of the Pareto principle in business management and life.[5]
Mathematically, the 80/20 rule is roughly followed by a power law distribution (also known as a Pareto distribution) for a particular set of parameters, and many natural phenomena have been shown empirically to exhibit such a distribution.[6]
The Pareto principle is only tangentially related to Pareto efficiency. Pareto developed both concepts in the context of the distribution of income and wealth among the population.
