#parental quartet

I just wanted to say I will be looking forward to the moment Yue reunites with her parents (which will likely be consisting only of hugs, tears, face holding and words of comfort and love).

But on a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate the anger of each respective foster parent when they find out what the Jade Emperor did to Yue, with 1 being shouting and swearing and 10 being going full on Kaiju rampaging?

Of course, the moment they see Yue clearly remembering how everything fell apart (and showing visible signs of trauma), I bet they would pull her into a group cuddle and just hold her tight for several hours.

Personally, I bet each of her parents have their own individual hugging type.

I'm pretty excited to write out the reunions too. I can't really answer any of your questions or give any ratings since they'll be spoilers, but everyone else is free to make their guesses.

It’s hard enough for them to parents with their own grief, but the boys are gonna be beyond devastated and blame themselvesssss

Shanzha, I think that one’s pretty obvious, but what about Macaque and RinRin? (Especially Macaque, when did he shift from niece mode to daughter mode?)

Macaque jumped into parenthood after he came to terms with the fact that he was Yue's uncle. There wasn't an "uncle mode" or a "dad mode," just a "this child is mine to protect and cherish mode." An "I love this very stressed and traumatized child like she is my own mode." By everything but name, Macaque was a father by the time Chapter 4 rolls around. He still thinks of himself as her "Uncle" since it was the first and arguably the most important connection between them.

RinRin, on the other hand, came into the relationship as a stranger burdened with the duty of being a babysitter/mentor to a child. Her eventual role as one of Yue's parental figures was a slow burn. At the same time, it crept up on her without her realizing it. Maybe it was when Yue successfully lied her way into getting something she wanted in the clan. Maybe it was when Yue helped RinRin take off her mask. Maybe it was when she woke up one morning curled around Yue with Shanzha on the other end.

half of the states are sleep.

cold states are closer to the middle/bottom to get more body heat and warm states are on the outside.

exception being rhode. he is small and curled up at the very top like a chihuahua

exception being texas bc he's large and a great foundation.

alaska is down there with him making sure he can still breathe.

New york is on top of them. he likes being compressed but is also cold so he wants body heat on all sides.

florida is sleep. otherwise, there would be no cuddle pile bc he would be off causing chaos and someone would have to stop him.

gov is near the bottom so he can't escape and overwork himself.

hawaii is there. 6 ft away from the edge. social distance.

she's also taking pictures for the funnies later.

Loui cannot fall asleep unless georgia is singing.

loui must ensure florida stays asleep so he doesn't cause chaos.

there are no hats. all hats are discarded in a pile next to them.

everyone enjoys this. few admit it. it's an implied thing.

there are squishmallows. everywhere. and random pillows. and a heating pad. wait who brought a heating pad?

a friend of mine suggested that washington has the heating pad because he is perpetually cold from the rain
