This is my “how am I supposed to Paramedic when I don’t get any calls” face. Had an 1144 (DOA) at 0930 this morning and…well yeah that’s it so far!

I've been doing pretty well on my quizzes up to this point - two As and one B (was one point off from 100% on one since our instructor took off two points due to some clarity issues). Have my fourth quiz due tomorrow night and have my first pharmacology quiz on the drugs atropine, dextrose, epinephrine, lidocaine hydrochloride, and oxygen in class on Thursday. Got the three easy ones down, and tomorrow will be spent studying the other two and repeating them over and over again while I paint primer in my bedroom 🤓📚 The amount of hours that are supposed to be put into the program each week: Lecture = 16 hrs Studying = 32 hrs TOTAL = 48 hrs + part time EMT = 9-35 hrs GRAND TOTAL = 57-83 hrs per week! I'll miss my paychecks from working 60-80 hr weeks, but my grades are showing how much time my studying has truly paid off. Very proud of myself! 😊 For the first time in my life, I am enjoying school! 👍🏼 -Sorry this was such a long post; couldn't help myself haha-

Got to give injections and start IVs with a normal saline solution in class yesterday! My partner didn't even feel the IM or SC injections, and he hardly felt the two IVs I started. Only practiced IM once and an IV twice on a mannequin before attempting (and succeeding) all of them! Not bad, I must say 😋💉

Today, we learned how to push certain emergency medications!! :D Can't wait to start practicing IVs and injections on Thursday 😋💉 But NOT looking forward to being pricked 😭 Plus an extra photo because I liked it and I felt good today 😏

Cannot wait to begin my medic program, though I will miss all of the fishing and travel adventures we’ve been going on this summer...

Did my Labor and Delivery shift for clinicals on Sunday! Started my day off with an emergency c-section which was crazy cool. Aaaaannnnnnd, that was the only thing that happened on my 13 hour shift. Legit. I spent approximately 11 hours bouncing between sitting and standing and chatting with nurses. All I wanted to do was hold the babies 😍 Which, unfortunately, wasn't a possibility this shift. All in all, it was a great learning experience though! Lovin' life 👌
