One way in, one way out. // Parallel Forest
Had tons of fun today with some good friends and spent a lot of time in my favorite place in Oklahoma.
(shitty iPhone photos)
I'm so excited to finally share some of Jessica's bridal portraits from a few weeks back! Zach and I drove out to Lawton, Oklahoma in the early morning and met with Jessica (as well as her friend and bridesmaid, another Jessica! Ha. Zach didn't have any trouble remembering all of our names that morning!), and we all had a great time in Medicine Park and the Parallel Forest. I loved all of Jessica's details for her wedding dress and accessories. In all DIY wonder, she actually made the little tulle sleeves herself, which I must admit impressed me. I like to pretend I'm a DIY queen like the next girl, but I really just sit back and admire my clients' abilities. Another subtle touch that carried a theme of Jessica and Jeff's love and appreciation for Lord of the Rings was her Evenstar necklace. Earlier this summer when we took their engagement photos, they had also touched on that theme by bringing Lord of the Rings books as props during a portion of the session. I absolutely love when couples incorporate items of importance to them, because it immediately adds a deeper story to the photos and makes them unique from every other picture you see on the internet. I have absolutely loved working with both Jessica and Jeff, and now I get to look through their wedding images and get to editing those! Hope everyone's having a happy Monday!

The parallel forest in the Wichita mountains wildlife refuge is rumored to be haunted due to the trees growing in a near-perfect grid. Some even say a witch's satanic shrine lies there. In reality, the trees were planted to be used as fence posts. Before the trees were ready to harvest, though, the metal fence post was invented, rendering the forest useless and untouched.
