Adapted from Video Game by Lucas Pope

The short movie expertly translates the gameplay elements with sharp editing and painful attention to detail. It also perfectly captures the oppressive tone and atmosphere of the border checkpoint with a focus on stress and monotony. What really elevates it is the character of the Inspector, played incredibly by the late Igor Savochkin, where instead of a faceless link to the player, he is given strength, honesty, and vulnerability.
