Oldman on oldman violence. I've been thinking about this ever since that pathfinder recap.

Brynn JUST came back from the dead and to express his displeasure that he got himself into that situation, Frek just straight up kills him, I find that beautiful

Likely:

Lalna: Mistranslation of ‘the scientist’, works well with themes of new beginnings/dealing with past decisions. Allows Rythian and him to reconcile and work together to save the world (opposite of the destruction of the old world and ends that arc by going full circle)

Xephos: “Professor Lewis Xephos” where “professor” is the closest title a canon character has to “scholar”, would connect Dawnlight to broader lore (tracks with world ending scale of the plot. Maybe the dimensional destabilizer from JF2 is related in this case)

Possible:

Zoey clone: Mushbury skin was recently used on Nick’s account and it doesn’t seem to be for BOTC (other skins that were used later already have their episodes out). This also would be executing a version of the zoey crossover that they wanted to do in Blackrock but couldn’t make work logistically. With the 2 Lewis’ in Yoglabs 2, it could maybe be more doable now (fits into space direction the main group is going in/ties into broader lore)

Brry: Don’t know what his deal is in canon. Very knowledgeable. Mostly a Doylist answer since I could imagine a series of conversations that could lead to this rather than being based on pre-existing lore. 

Briony: Could read the tattoos and we have no idea what her deal is. If she doesn’t know that she is the scholar or has other reasons to not want to participate it could work (since she has already lied about her past/motivations once)

There is not going to be a scholar you stupid wizard:

The Logs: The Scholar/logs connection is something like "that which that contains information". Makes the logs being scattered make more sense (that they would have predicted that bit). Makes more sense as a plan than find 'vague description of a person with no way to know if it is the right one'. something something etymology connection something something

Lalnable: One of the more educated people in yogslore and ‘scientist’ could be the mistranslation (here is how Lalnable fans can still win)

Israphel: obligatory here’s how SoI can still win

Rythian from the Future: Rythian’s trust issues cause him to only trust himself (time travel is canon multiple times over so who knows)

Panda: Zoey retelling her adventure gets way out of hand (yogslore operates on ‘wouldn’t this be funny logic’ and Panda becoming central to the plot after a brief crossover would be hilarious)

Doesn’t Matter already dead: Funny rule (after all the searching they are dead, causing a crisis in the group that pushes the plot further)

Teep: Where is their dinosaur (funny rule)

Barry the mushroom: ‘Somehow… Barry returned’

Nilesy: Seems like the kind of situation he would end up in - also he is one of the only friends they ever had (would be hilarious callback to the ‘I need to whisper something that will tie all the plots together in 2 seasons’ bit)
