First people are mocking Sakura for not being sure if Sasuke wore glasses or not. First of all, no on really knew Sasuke! To be honest his only real relationships as a child was his family. Yeah he ran into Naruto from time to time, but the two didn’t really start interacting until after the Uchiha massacre. On top of that Sakura and Ino both had crushes on him, but so did all the female population their age. He didn’t interact with any of them, only Sakura after they became a team together. We know Sasuke had bad eyes, and truthfully he probably should have had glasses. Remember when he was going blind? That’s why he took Itachi’s eyes. Sasuke left the village at the age of 12, he didn’t even really start interacting with the others until that age anyway! Then they didn’t really see him again until he was on the opposite side of them around the age of 16. After that he traveled a lot. So yeah, no one really could say for sure ‘Sasuke did/didn’t wear glasses when he was little’ because no one really knew him.

Secondly, we are back to the shitty father argument again.

So Sasuke left the village to originally see the world for himself. Sakura eventually went out to find him. At this point Sasuke had realized that team seven were always there for him, even when he didn’t realize it, and that Sakura truly did love him. He realized he had grown to love her to. When they traveled together they grew closer and eventually got married. They returned to the village to raise Sarada.

Then the issue with the stupid white zetsu’s reappear. Sasuke leaves the village for two reasons, both stated at some point or another! The first is because he is honestly the only person who can actually do this freaking mission. After all the shit they did to get peace Sasuke didn’t wan to see them all thrown into war all over again. If he was the only one who could do this mission to protect his family then he was going to do it.

The second reason was stated in the novels and the anime. It was even implied in the manga. Almost every situation with Sasuke was someone trying to use him to get to his eyes. Orochimaru, Obito, Madara...they all wanted his eyes. That threat of people coming after him for his eyes isn’t going to end now, especially that he has more powerful eyes. Just look at Shin. If he stayed in the village it would endanger the village and his family. It may hurt him to stay away, but it would hurt a hundred times more to loose Sakura or Sarada.

Then there is the argument that he is a horrible father for attacking Sarada in the tower. Do I really have to remind people that he was just ATTACKED by a boy around Sarada’s age wearing the Uchiha crest with the Sharingan eyes? Like really, he is in an isolated place that only Naruto should know about. He was attacked by people with his family crest and an ability that only his family should posses. He even sent word to Naruto and agreed to meet with him because Sasuke DOES NOT understand what is going on there.

All of a sudden a girl around the same age as the boy comes into the tower that NO ONE should know he is in, wearing the crest with the same eyes, looking for HIM! Of course hes’ not going to hesitate to attack! Especially because there was no doubt that Sarada would be back at home, with her mother, blissfully unaware that he was anywhere near the village.

Naruto, Sakura, and the entire village knew Sasukes’ stance on this issue. Sasuke was not going to endanger his family. He couldn’t. So he kept his contact with the village at a minimum. There was no reason for him to believe that Naruto would say ‘hey, Sasuke is in a bad situation right now and is being attacked by people who should not exist right now, you know what this situation could use? His daughter. Let’s drag her into this.’ He never imagined that Naruto would drag children into this.

To be fair Naruto didn’t, but even Naruto didn’t expect the girls to follow him. Now Shikamaru and Naruto each had a chance to eliminate this situation. However both of them knew what it was like to lose their fathers. They wanted Sarada and Sasuke to have that meeting. Naruto even felt guilty about putting Sasuke on the mission in the first place. So when they saw an opportunity to let the two meet, of course they both took it. If Sarada hadn’t followed Naruto, there was no way she would have been out there.

So yeah, the poor guy has been on high alert for years now, doing missions for all five kages if you read the novels. The enemy also seems to know him too, so he wouldn’t be surprised if they knew what his daughter looked like and made one of their own appear to be like her to get Sasuke to lower his guard. Yet Sasuke didn’t hesitate because there was NO REASON for Sarada to be there!

When he realized that it was actually his daughter he was stunned and horrified. She shouldn’t have been there, how dare Naruto drag her into it, why the hell did Naruto let her come, he just terrified her, this was not the way their first meeting should have gone. Those were probably all the thoughts that ran through his head.

It was the summer in Konoha, the sky was as blue as the eyes of their beloved Nanadaime Hokage, leafs as green as the forbidden forest of Nara clan, and the smells of various kind of food lingering all around Konoha – but the most prominent smell was none other than the smell of ramen.

An old man in his sixties was sitting on the porch of the Uchiha residence, the lake and bright grass of the garden around it bringing back a lot of memories -- most of them good. Drinking away his black tea and eating cheap ready-to-eat tomato-flavored ramen was not a bad idea. It was quite a stress reliever…

Now I know why that dobe eats this shit…

“Slurrrp… ahhh.” Sasuke Uchiha was in the middle of his mid-day meal. He retired from being a ninja and preferred to stay in the company of his family and friends. Because of his absence, his student and son-in-law, Boruto Uzumaki, had taken upon his responsibilities.

“Shhh,” a whisper came from the room behind him. “Let me check if gramps is back or not.” Sasuke knew all the while, ‘who it was’ and ‘who he was with’. The only question he needed to confirm his theory was that ‘Why is he sneaking in with her inside his own house?’

“Slurrrp”

By that very sound Ita froze to death, as the realization of who it was and what he could do hit him.

“You have some guts sneaking into an Uchiha household.” Sasuke said with a calm, yet cold voice. He just wanted to play around and have some fun with his troublesome grandson.

“Huh... Gramps, it’s me, Ita?” he said, shoving a girl into the cupboard next to the doors. “I thought you were gone for the council meeting. What happened, old man? You’re not feeling it, or what?” Ita said while sliding the paper door just to see his grandfather sitting out at the porch peacefully.

“Slurrp…“ Sasuke did not look back and concentrated on his meal. “Ahh… who is she? And why did you need to sneak in with her?” Asked he calmly.

Ita was now as pale as a snowman.

How did that old geezer sense our chakra?! I was sure that I had masked it well. Shiki masked it well too.

“How did you--?”

“I see, Sarada has not taught you well… or have you been slacking off?” Sasuke furrowed his brows, dark aura engulfing the surroundings, sending a shiver down the boy’s spine.

“Nope, she trains with me whenever she has time, but, you know, work comes in the way.”

Sasuke got up, walked up to the now chunin Uchiha, and stared dead straight into the soul of the young man.

“Hm, you have not answered my question, boy.”

“Ah… Umm… You know…“ By the time Ita tried to make up a more than impossible to believe in story, a girl with characteristic black pigtails and green eyes stepped out, held tight onto Ita’s hand, and answered, ”Ohayō gozaimasu, Uchiha-san.” She lowered her head slightly, “I’m your grandson’s girlfriend, Nara Shikari, and his best friend before that. I know that Troubl.. I mean, Ita-kun can be careless, irresponsible and a big trouble to everyone, but I promise to keep him in check and--” Shiki was about to finish her guilty, pleading speech when she halted at the sound of snickering.

“Hehehe, ahem,” old man cleared his throat, “Now, that you have confessed on your own, I should prepare the rings for two you.” The sentiment made both teens go red to the tips of their ears.

Sasuke was dying to tell about this encounter to Sakura and Naruto. He had grown back into his interest in humor, as it made him feel young again, reminding him of the days when he used to laugh without any restraint.

“GRAMPS!” retorted the budding chunin, scandalized.

Sasuke could not believe, looking at the teen before him, that he was once the child that spend away the days at this same porch, running around and imbibing the soul of his clan, making old man’s heart soft and content with his life. He always had a soft spot for Ita, regardless of his ‘dobe antics’. To much of his shame, Ita’s adolescence made them drift apart, as the young man developed the need to hang out more with his peers.

Ita was matching the tomatoes in the plastic ramen cup in color, his gaze averted from both figures in the room, one hand being held by his beloved girlfriend, and the other about to snap him out of this predicament with the ‘lightning raijin jutsu’. Shiki, on the other hand, was staring him down with that Suna gaze and holding on even tighter, prompting him to say something rather than run away. If he did, it would be unfair to her, as she had put herself out there, so why can’t he? And that with his own ‘beloved gramps’.

“You know I’m still waiting for my answer,” Sasuke asked, but this time with his cold voice.

“Say something,” Shiki whispered while nudging Ita.

“Okay, okay, just let me think,” Ita whispered back, and directed his gaze at the old man. “Umm, gramps… You know the truth now, then why go into the details,” Ita said while rubbing the back of his neck.

“Hm.” The older man closed his eyes in deep thought. “Tomorrow at 6 in the morning, training ground, bring extra ice packs with you. “

Ita knew what he meant by that, and he did not want to think about it a single bit.

“Okay.” Ita‘s whimpered, his dread adding weight to the air.

“Good. You’re free to leave now,” Sasuke turned around as the two chunin bowed and were about to exit the premises.

“And Shiki,” Sasuke looked back at them as they turned to his voice, “Thank you for taking care of my Trouble.”

“Hai.” Shiki smiled wide and blushed from neck to forehead.

But then he did cry when Sarada was born.

Papa's girl is perfect. Strong and beautiful just like her mother. I love my wife and daughter infinitely more every day.
