You and your friends (as well as Buttercup’s mom) munched away happily on the tasty pancakes. As your stomach began to fill your mind wondered to other things, eventually landing on a question. “So Buttercup did you have anything planed for today?”

“Oh plenty, first I thought we’d see if Miss Heritage has anything useful for our quest.” But before she could go any further Buttercup was cut off by her mother.

“Somepony is forgetting that she is grounded.” Her mother’s tone was somewhat jocular “And that she hasn’t done any of her chores for a few nights now.”

Buttercup knew despite her mothers tone how serious she was, and how much work was waiting. Crestfallen Buttercup grumbled. “Aw Mom.”

You couldn’t stand to see her like that, you had to think of something fast. Grabbing an uneaten pancake off the serving plate in the middle of the table and chewed a sloppy smiley face in it before plopping it on your face. “Cheer up Buttercup! We’ll help you with that stuff.”

Buttercup looked up only to stifle a laugh before falling out of her chair and giggling uncontrollably on the floor.

Ben almost spit his pancakes all over.

After that breakfast finished with happy eating noises.

Despite having been roped into helping with chores Ben was happy to lend a hoof. Which was good because having everyone helping made things go so much easier.

Clearing the table and doing the dishes first made the clean up of syrup a breeze.

Taking out the trash wasn’t great but even that can be fun with friends.

Last was general house cleaning, mostly picking up and dusting. After a game to see who could throw trash into the can from further away a small feather duster sword fight may have broken out when no one was looking.

Chores done Buttercup’s mom finally relented and let all three of you out to play. And just in time, all of Stalagmare colony was starting to wake up.
