"Shouldn’t you kids be at school? Get outta here!” The waitress shooed the students out of the diner, with them coming up with bunches of excuses and lies to try to convince her to let them stay. “You morons are a couple years too late to be trying to fool me. And next time don’t wear your uniform if you’re gonna ditch!” Those kids were such a handful sometimes, but they meant well and never really wanted to cause trouble. It was just the senioritis getting to them. Without them though, the diner was depressingly empty.

“Sorry about that.” She took the liberty of refilling the man’s coffee cup, “Lotta kids around here thinking they can use this joint as their get-away, which I don’t mind, but only after school!” Granted she was the last person to be trying to lecture someone on school attendance, but it was her duty as an adult to set the right example.

Tapping a finger against her bottom lip, Cerise looked at her shopping list and then back up to where the canned watercress sat on the shelf. Were it any other ingredient, she would have normally left it but a stir fry was nothing without the crunchy vegetable. Shoving her phone in her back pocket, Cerise squared her shoulders and placed on foot on the bottom shelf, her left had grasping the third shelf. Fingertips brushed against the metal edge of the can - who on earth put them so far back?? - but she couldn’t gain purchase on the smooth surface. 

          There wasn’t really any method to choosing who he was asking, well ok that’s not true Otoya was looking for someone who seemed nice enough to answer him but other than that there wasn’t much reason behind the stranger who’s shoulder he reached out to tap to get their attention,

           “Excuse me, I’m new around here, and I got lost... Do you know where the music store is? One that sells instruments and stuff like that, not CDs.”
