Day 13: Monster

I shouldn’t be so tickled and elated to receive an ask like this, but I am. You know me too well: I LOVE dead character jokes!

I had to sit here for a few minutes thinking through all my favorites. Ahhhh such wonderful, hilarious, cackle-filled reminiscing. I’m tittering even now.

I’m contemplating. How I have old, fond recollection for Stoick the Past jokes because of how many swears I got in the tags for my early HTTYD 2 posts. How that led to that Battle of the Grounded Dungeon RP. How BOTGD itself had hilarious dead jokes, including Vox getting stabbed. Or how people flipped when I faked Gareth’s death… or wrote his actual death scene. Book!Snotlout death jokes are damn hysterical, too, both the joke and everyone’s reaction to it. When BH 6 came out, I found dead Tadashi jokes hilarious - for the part of the fandom that wasn’t upset when you made them, anyway, haha. Then. Nina Tucker and Maes Hughes jokes NEVER get old. There’s a particularly SPECIAL evil delight watching someone go through those episodes for the first time. It’s a SPECIAL delight. It’s a particularly juicy flavor of evil. That hasssssss to be at my top for favorite death jokes. I also like jokes that circle just my group of friends. I don’t know how many death jokes pass around the broader Mass Effect fandom, but I crack up whenever my friends angrily harangue me for shooting Mordin HOW COULD YOU DO THAT??? and stuff. I wish there was more culture of dead!Papyrus jokes… he tends to be on the angst side when his death gets brought up (which is good good good angst, of course).

I also have a huge love for the Mm Whatcha Say meme. I don’t care how old it is. It’s HILARIOUS.

It’s impossible for me to pick one undeniable favorite.

But in the midst of all this happy reminiscing of dead character jokes, I think today I’m going to vote:

Pafriskus!!!

He’s basically Papyrus, but more powerful--and with glorious hair?!

Lady hops in the convertible with him and witnesses his dream of cruising with the wind in his hair come to fruition.  It’s so beautiful that she’s moved to tears.

OKAY SO LIKE SOMEONE WENT AND ANIMATED THE ENTIRE FREAKING “PAFRISKUS” SKIT/SONG I WROTE LAST YEAR AND I’M ONLY JUST NOW DISCOVERING IT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS RELEASED IN JANUARY?!
