Once you find your stone the book also instructs you to speak to the stone. Again this is not a prayer, you will actually instruct the stone what you want from it. Repeated use of this stone is said to build a “memory” of what it is supposed to do. Some of this may not be specific to PA Dutch magics, still found this to be cool.

For this entry I am going to keep this shorter and provide a healing spell as written in "The Powwow Grimoire" For Inflamation: Lay a red handled knife across the swollen area. I like The Powwow Grimoire by Robert Phoenix , I believe he also has a website that lists charms for free online. The Long Lost Friend by Hohman is a classic (the edition I have has the text printed twice once in English, and once in PA Dutch), The Red Church does a good job of breaking down the how to's (which is nice because there are some resources out there that provide the charms and anticipate a working knowledge of the folk tradition). Another thing I like about The Red Church is there is a section that breaks down other books used for further study.

To Protect the Home Go to each window and door individually. In the air make the sign of the cross or protective star while saying: "Three angels with three swords before the house of God.
