Brian Paddick, the former UK policeman turned Liberal Democrat life peer, has spoken out about why he’s on PrEP.

PrEP is the daily medication that HIV negative people take to prevent acquiring the virus. It is not yet available on the British NHS. However, the health service is currently running a trial with around 10,000 participants, to test the drug’s cost efficiency.

1. Do you have a crush at the moment?Yes, I do. It's a little embarrassing, and apparently obvious when we're in the same room together (which doesn't happen that often). I tag stuff about him with his surname.

Where would you go, and would you be involved in the main story, or just watching on the sidelines?There’s this book series call The Unicorn Chronicles. Quite an obscure series, but it’s been one of my favourites for the past 10 years. It’s beautiful, and sure, there’s this huge war, but it’s not one of these majorly dystopian worlds like The Hunger Games and Divergent. Ever since reading the first book for the first time, I have always wanted to visit Luster, the land where the series is set. I’d just like to be someone on the sidelines, to be honest. It’s a great storyline, but I don’t want to get involved in it myself.

38. Describe your dream girl/guy:

He’s a musician, and really good at it. Maybe writes me a few songs. He’s kind, caring, accepting, easy to talk to, I feel comfortable to be myself around him, we can stay up to all hours of the night talking abut how messed up the world is. He’s open-minded, courteous, and just a real genuine person (I pretty much just described the answer to question 8…)

Why must you make me choose??!! I have too many!!! I’m just gonna list off the shows that I keep up to date with, because that’s generally how I know whether I like a show or not. In no particular order:

I'm the kind of person who:

Buys a lot of something in one go, then never uses it (chocolate, sheet music, etc.)

Has a lot of different teas as a result

Wears nice shoes just because, such as when I'm just sitting at my desk doing nothing

Usually flunks the first attempt then does really well on the second attempt of something (i.e. my online quizzes for uni)

Has more music (both digital and sheet music) than I know what to do with

Has more playlists than I know what to do with

Focuses on one little project at a time, procrastinating the important stuff as a result

is really smart academically, but sometimes says the stupidest things
