Ugh. Why are people asking owlvid their opinion on non owl things?
Most recently, owl//vid is mostly talking about someone on fb who is keeping wildlife in captivity on their property. (Not safely or ethically based on what I've heard about the person, but I'm not very informed on the matter.)
I kept scrolling, and they got sone of anons asking about dsm stuff, mainly ocd and paras. And their answers interested me, because they admit that some paras such as pedophilia can result from trauma, and they also add how sometimes intrusive thoughts can cause arousal. Which is true, which makes me wonder why they are then so against some dark topics being explored in fiction.
They also mentioned another blogger, but I didn't recognize the name (or nickname), but it sounds like that other blogger is a proshipper that owl//vid may have interacted with in the past. O//v's posts sounded like some kind of response, but without context, I have no clue what they were talking about.
I am once again asking what any of that has to do with owls (except I suppose the wildlife one but I’m betting the wildlife in question isn’t an owl)

Look, I don't care how invasive or "bad" a species is, but if you start talking about how you detest that species and want to kill all of them, I'm going to give you the side eye and avoid you.
Plants and animals aren't inherently evil and they aren't malicious. They just are. Maybe they're in the wrong place, but they are acting according to their natural instincts. They're not being evil or mean or invasive on purpose. Chances are, people put them in a place they're not supposed to be.
Talk about managing them, yes. But don't talk about wanting to kill them with fire or how you'd like to take a gun and shoot them all so they suffer before they die. That's really fucked up.

Owlvid is so very, very normal. In fact, they’re so normal that they don’t mind when high school students (children) contact dangerous people. And they don’t care when people use legit Neo-Nazi dogwhistles. Here’s a tip, kids. If someone is calling things degenerate, it’s a good hint that they’ve been drinking a little alt-lite kool-aid.
I think we can all agree that what anon did wasn’t a good idea, right? In fact, it’s downright dangerous. Children contacting potential predators online are putting themselves in extreme danger. Is Owlvid concerned about this? Nope! They just think it’s amusing that a “new weirdo” was unlocked.
Actually, good on that weirdo for telling this kid to fuck off. Right now, they sound like the only adult in the room.
When confronted with just how dangerous the child’s actions were, Owlvid decided to make it about proshipping. Because CLEARLY that’s the real and present danger here. Not a child walking into what very well could be a dangerous situation. Also, note the fact that Owlvid doesn’t care about the fashy stuff being bandied about.
Owlvid. Darling. It’s not that you said “I want kids to pedo-bait potentially dangerous people”, it’s that you didn’t say “hey, that’s a really stupid idea. You shouldn’t do that”. As the adult in the situation, you are morally bound to tell the child that what they are doing is really fucking stupid and really fucking dangerous.
