Man what about an au where Axel dies fighting the Bishops and Clancy can't handle it, and seizes Axels body...
Torch finding Axels seized body kneeling by a lake watching his reflection. Clancy staring at Axel through seals own eyes.... Holding in to him for dear life. But it's not life. Because Torch has to watch Axels body decay slowly as Clancy holds on to it. As he refuses to let it go.
Torch having to approach Clancy in Axels body and put a hand on the cold, bloating should, and talk with Clancy like: "Clancy, you have to let him go. Watching this happen won't bring them back ."
And Clancy knows this. He's so aware of this. But if he leaves Axels body then it's real. Then hell have to return to reality, in his own body , and face the dead body. And he can't. He just can't do that.
