This made me a little emotional. It was posted (and appears to be filmed) at the end of launch week when he found out how Sunlight in the Shadows did in the album charts.
He’s put on a sparkly shirt and he’s saying all the right positive things, but I can’t help wondering if he was disappointed with it going in at number 13. The midweek chart showed number 5, so I was surprised that it dropped down.
This is not to detract that a top 20 album is still a massive achievement, because it is. But he seems to have done more promo than ever for this launch but not achieved the same sales as OMB.
The reason I got emotional is because I’m actually so impressed with how he deals with it all. His positivity is inspirational and this is often overlooked. He even followed up the day after with a story saying “Happy Saturday.” I know we’re only seeing the public side of him, but what we see is a great role model. It’s a shame more people don’t see that too.
