Good news: the output jack was an easy fix. All I had to do was unscrew the back with a screwdriver, put the washers back on on both sides, screw the front with some pliers and then screw the back closed. It seriously took five minutes and cost nothing. Apparently it's not all that uncommon for the output jack to come loose. Now I know.
