This weekend also happens to be the Lydia Pinkham Laboratory's annual Open Studios where 60 or so fellow artists and craftsmen in the building open their doors to the public. So stop by, check out my guitars, bring any instruments you would like me to look at and wander around a ~120 year old historic laboratory loaded with inspiration. I ride 2 - 4 miles every day to get around town and like to have a variety of setups to change it up. They vary from 10.5" down to this 8.125". I don't ride this board that often and run the trucks super loose. This morning I had a guy force me into the gutter while mini-bombing a hill. Had to do the Mark Gonzales foot drag while getting a touch of speed wobbles through some gnarly mud. I'm awake now. : : #skateboarding #skateveryday #speedwobbles #closecall #dailycommute

Here's an odd acoustic pickup system that requires a little bit of fussing to dial in the action. It's an RMC pickup with six individual saddles on an older generation Godin Multiac nylon string. The strings need to be raised by calculating the desired action for each string and then adding the appropriate shim to the underside of each pickup. I used black fiber veneer, stacking them accordingly to yield the proper action and superglued them to each leg of each pickup. How do you set up a neck without a body? Luckily you have a Tele in your personal stash to steal from. This new neck (bottom) is a Warmoth that I blacked out, added the client's custom logo and topcoated with nitro lacquer. The rest of the neck was oiled. Side note: my Tele (top) has been strung with 12s and tuned down to C# ala Tim Lerch. Time for new strings anyway. : : #partscaster #warmoth #telecaster #teleneck #guitarfinish
