Robert Stone reads from Outerbridge Reach and Ken Kesey reads from Sailor Song, followed by audience Q&A.
Our friend Thomas Beller has written a touching remembrance of Robert Stone, set at this reading above, for The New Yorker:
Thinking about the reading at the Y this week after hearing of Stone’s death, it occurred to me that I should look up what, exactly, he had read in “Outerbridge Reach” that got him so emotional—what it was that Browne had scrawled onto the shack with his white stick. Looking in my copy of the book, I found this: “Be True to the Dreams of Your Youth.”

Novelist Robert Stone, known for 'Dog Soldiers' dies at 77
NEW YORK (AP) — Robert Stone, the award-winning novelist who spun out tales worldwide of seekers, frauds and other misbegotten American dreamers in such works as "A Flag for Sunrise" and "Dog Soldiers," died Saturday at age 77. http://dlvr.it/84cyp3
