The voice of the inventor, mother of Trunks and Bulla, wife of a Saiyan price, the first scientist to build a time machine, and the first human girl Goku has ever met, has passed away. This was made in tribute to her 31 year career voicing Bulma since Dragon Ball in 1986.

I may have not grown up with Hiromi Tsuru’s Bulma, but I sure loved her voice and how well it fitted this character (especially in the early parts of DB). All of DB I watched in the past five to six years was in Japanese, so the idea of a “new” Japanese Bulma having to be introduced wayyyyy earlier than expected (or needed. Or wanted) is just surreal.
