Harry's instagram during his 2014-2016 hipster era was completely black and white barring a pride flag, and two scrabble games (one of which was rumoured to be played with Louis. Also sticking with the 2014-2015 theme, the Perfect MV is also shot in black and white (A song where only Harry and Louis of the 1D boys wrote on!) I'm not sure what the sunglassess refer to, but yellow seems to be very much the Larry theme post-2020.

This feels like a reference to the end of One Direction. Throughout the song, the "road trip" is the 2010-2015 era, whilst the car is the band. The engine having problems is the band when they were burnt out and tired of each other by 2014. "withheld clouds" feels to me a reference to their song Clouds which they used to open shows, and we all know how much Harry enjoys playing live. Perhaps this him saying all the bands' problems bled away the moment they went on stage. The last line in the chorus is Harry saying to keep going on in the band (eighteen months my arse)

One Direction (espesially Harry) had a werid obsession with poutine and maple syrup. Like, they would bring it up whenever they were in Canada interviews or shows. Louis likes pancakes.

There's this newly released scene of the One Direction boys in James Cordon's car during Carpool Karaoke after getting McDonalds where Harry only ordered an iced tea and fries. (Sorry for the shitty quality) In the video he's eating a hash brown, which Louis had ordered before. Coincidence? I think not. The line about loving you is one of Harry's most emotional lines -- he doesn't usually say "love" so explicitly (except for Love Of My Life, about England) and I think it's about Harry missing One Direction, looking back on those days fondly. He will always love it.

Kiss her could either be a reference to PR relationships, but I subscribe to the theory that the "her" in some of Harry's songs is a reference to himself, and here "kiss her and don't tell" could mean kissing Louis in secret.

Harry likes wine (The song Grapejuice, but also note all the references in Canyon Moon, Little Freak, etc). Louis smokes weed (the infamous video). In the Drag Me Down MV, Harry drinks tea out of a rainbow mug with a robot. Adorable. "Riot America" in my head, it's how most British singers and bands don't usually break into America, yet One Direction caused literal riots in their first years in America. Where, well, we saw their expirimentation with edibles and adjacent substances. Not really sure what life hacks in the bathroom refers to. All the time spent in dressing rooms? This verse is very much about 2015.

Harry definitely did cocaine, espesially towarsd the end of One Direction (look at his pupils and that iconic sniff!). This was also the era of loose barely buttoned shirts (That one interview for FOUR?) Again I think the "her" refers to himself, and the sea view are Louis' blue eyes.

A bit of a stretch, maybe? But Louis got his wisdom tooth out a yearish before Harry's House was released, presumably near the time it was being written. Probably a stretch, but what else is this fandom? I think the entire song goes from the moment they met and joined the band (starting with WMYB) and as the song finishes, it goes from being about 1D to being about them, and we enter the current day.

Harry usually loves repeating lyrics in his songs (note, all of them) so Keep Driving is unusual in how many verses it has, giving us a roadtrip back through One Direction. As I said, towards the end the song finishes looking back from 1D and looks towards Larry's future, friends or maybe more? Harry wanting to "keep driving" might mean wanting to reconnect, or wanting whatever beautiful thing he and Louis have to continue. Even if you don't belive in Larry, believe in One Direction.
I absolutely ADORE (you) this song, the vibes are immaculate and Harry's soft singing voice is so intimate and perfect. It feels like something you'd put on having cereal for dinner.
