Let’s talk about yellow

not just any yellow, but the lemon kind that’s somehow become a key lore in this fandom

also known as: lemonrry

if you’ve never heard of this, boy have i got some information for you.

So.. what is lemonrry?????

lemonrry started as a fan project a few years ago. it began with the phrase “2 weeks and i’ll be home.” (if you don’t know the backstory, please send me an ask because i will happily write a 12-page essay about it. no problem. i live for that lore.)

anyway, it’s a simple message that somehow carried every ounce of longing, comfort, and hope that’s always lingered between their worlds. Dramatic? NO. beautiful. and #real

So in May 2022 the whole fandom drenched their accounts and timeline in yellow in order to show support for our parents. We used lemons, every yellow pic we could find, and used tags like #lemonrryweekend

i just love that larries wore yellow that week just to show support. a sea of colour, online and offline. No purpose other than showing them that ‘hey we’re here and we appreciate you two’

and then harry showed up.

ON MAY 6TH WHEN THE PROJECT WAS IN FULL PROGRESS

same week, same warmth, same shade… are you seeing this? no caption, no context, just him posing with a lady that hadn’t even asked for a pic. maybe it was coincidence. maybe it wasn’t.

what makes lemonrry special is that it turned into something more than a theory or a trend. it became a language.

over the years, both have kept coming back to yellow!!! on stage, in lyrics, in outfits, in that very specific kind of “i swear we didn’t plan this” overlap that’s too cute to ignore.

to some people, it’s just a colour.

to others, it’s a quiet “Larry is so fckn real” whispered across the noise.

and lately? yellow’s everywhere AGAIN.

harry’s practically marinated in it. sweaters, shoes, bag, phone case, entire pleasing campaigns dipped in sunshine like he bought the entire sun in bulk. and that sunset Pleasing hoodie that went on sale last month? yeah. im surprised he didn't put them up for free at this point.

happy coincidence? maybe. (i wanna drown myself in a bottle of her perfume)

but maybe it’s also the only way he can show support without saying a single word

because louis has always been the sun. the laugh after the storm. the one who shines so bright it’s borderline rude.

so maybe harry’s yellow era isn’t an era at all, it’s l o v e.

blue and green will always be #alwaysinmyheart for us, our foundation, eternal and loud. but lately they’ve become a bit too obvious, haven’t they?

The whole thing is too studied. too “i caught that!” energy. so they did what any self-respecting duo would do. they picked a new colour.

yellow became theirs.

so yeah this started as a fan project and now it’s become a frickin love language

think im finished? no im bloody not. it’s not my fault this post is so long.

It’s Harry’s fault. Cause SOMEONE leaked Ophelia in 2023. Where Harry sings things like

“pour my lemon all over you / look what we made, what we made / lemonade lemonade.”

????????????????? ugh !!!!!!!!!!!!!! give it a rest ffs !!????????

okay fine. that was oBviOuSLy another coincidence.

AND THE REASON WHY I'M CRYING :

HIS. FUCKING. HAND. ON. HARRY'S. HIP. 🔥🔥🔥

But the uncut version?

Only those who have been in a situation where you are having to be subtle about your interaction with someone will see the nuance in pretty much every frame.

A few observations; About a third of the way in, you can see Louis flash his eye sideways for a split second to check the camera and Harry's hand in his peripheral vision.

He then starts the 'organic' build up to him moving his arm to meet Harry's hand, flexing his fingers and coughing, with the aim to naturally get his arm in the right position.

Then (not so subtly lol) checks the camera and 'organically' moves his arm to harrys hand- smiling to himself when he's successful.

Finally, Harry gently brushes his upper arm, and softly smiles.

This moment was nearly 15 years ago, but still has me in a fucking chokehold lol.

And then Duo went ahead and confirmed my suspicions
