I had to cut this from the actual book so here it is. Basically how Vivien and Oscar met - this is fleshed out to a full length chapter in the OSCP5 book. I guess the text would be better in last panel if it was "But we've been best buds ever since I tamed him!" but I am too lazy to rewrite...
OSCP5 progress - almost finished!!
Putting the finishing touches on the print file for OSCP5. I need to draw a profile picture for the front pages and maybe add some extras but overall it is done and hopefully going out to the printers on Monday for a proof. The book is around 132 pages. 3 months of intense inking though the story was developed on and off over 3 years. There's a lot to say but I'm just, well, I'm happy since I had the time and energy to basically do all that I had wanted to do for this book. I wouldn't have been able to pull it off 3 years ago. Thanks for waiting all this time. Preorder a copy at BigCartel. I'll be designing the preorder-only goods this week... geez- the deadline for TCAF is coming up fast! I'm feeling mad nervous. Also just wrapped up a quick illustration for the LoveLoveHill anthology Love Lens also coming out at TCAF. I didn't have time to draw a story but I hope you check out the book anyway- it looks like the stories will be stellar - as always with LLH books.

OSCP5 progress report
Progress:
Things have been slow since I've been working on the cover. I finished basic layout today but it still needs more work - maybe two more 'layers' for more depth. Considering printing on RISO or full colour- I don't know yet. It is difficult decision... (Above is a snippet of the front cover) Chapter 6: 18 pages total, 14 pages inked. I need to repencil 4 pages or cut or do something - they don't really work even though I had repenciled them earlier. This chapter was incredibly tricky. Inking at a rate of 1 page a day since it was emotionally tiring. Chapter 7: Chapter cover & 47 pages inked out of 51. 4 pages left, either throw 2 out or repencil at 4 with plans for 6 pages of additional material drawn in a different style from Vivien's perspective. 28 pages need additional background work. Chapter 8: 42 pages to be inked, 8 pages inked. Threw out 2 pages but I need to add more at the end/rework the end of the chapter. Worried about making it in time...
Started chapter 6 yesterday after finishing most of chapter 7 inking. Ch. 6 picks up from the previous ending of Ch. 5 after Oscar mysteriously runs away from Jirou during their 'undate.' Ch. 7 is story of when Oscar and Vivien first meet as middle school children. As I've been drawing a younger, more honest Oscar it's kind of interesting to return back to drawing his high school version. Progress: Chapter 6: Threw out one page, 18 pages total, 2 pages inked. TT_TT I'm kind of behind as these pages are difficult to ink and even though I did repencils I'm finding that I still need to retweak things while inking on the computer.

I was all excited trying to get together a drawing for y'all to celebrate the holiday season but I was also looking at Tibetan art at the same time and decided that these pencils are better suited for something else. Maybe the cover of OSCP5? :D I am sorry to disappoint you. ;_;
Either way, Vivien will make the cover of the next issue. >_<; Please look forward to it. I hope I can work on it seriously sometime next year in April. That's the goal! So far progress is 16/140 or so and I need to redo the pencils for the first chapter in the book. :-/
