Did you know that AD STARS has extended this year’s entry deadline until May 31? It remains free to enter, and is the only festival with a US$10,000 cash prize for its two Grand Prix of the Year winners. 

We are also thrilled to unveil this year’s posters, designed by the talented team at Oricom in South Korea.

Last May, AD STARS appointed Seowon Park, Vice President of Oricom, as its Chief Creative Officer, and Park took charge of directing the design of all AD STARS assets from our striking star-shaped trophy, to our website and posters.

Park is a world-renowned creative, who has been awarded by Cannes Lions and the One Show and was the first Korean to be awarded for three consecutive years.

“It is an honor to be appointed as the Chief Creative Officer of Ad Stars which is the only international advertising award show in Korea,” Park told Branding in Asia last year. 

We’d like to extend our gratitude to Oricom for creating such vibrant posters to promote AD STARS 2018. They perfectly reflect this year’s theme, ‘Connect!’ while highlighting our mission to share creative solutions and change the world.

In 2008, some of the most revered advertising professionals in South Korea had the idea of forming a global advertising awards show like no other, which they called AD STARS.

They wanted to create a truly democratic festival that is free to enter, and to reward creative professionals by offering a prize for the best ideas.

Ten years on, there’s a lot to celebrate. In 2008, AD STARS received 3,105 entries from 29 countries. By 2016, entries had grown to over 18,000.

AD STARS has officially arrived as one of the world’s most vibrant advertising shows, and to commemorate its 10th anniversary, we turned to leading Korean design firm, Oricom, to create an icon that reflects a bright future – both for AD STARS, and for the global creative industries, too.
