She looked at the wreckage of the fish tank- Skub, the fish, thankfully saved and put back into a holding tank for the time being- as well as the surrounding debris from Sbahi’s escape. The gil scattered all over the floor from the betting pot. The water stained floor. She sighed. Again. She ignored the remark about the deepening lines in her forehead. She ignored the second remark from Laoet about the stress lines already there. She ignored the third exchanged between the two of them regarding the source of both- “Look. I don’t even care. I- Yes. Yes I know you both aren’t at fault. You never are. You’ve done nothing wrong before in your lives and I should know that already. I don’t care. I just want you to fix all of this-” She made a sweeping gesture at the wreckage. “-before I decide I regret having you both around. Or before Sbahi gets the idea to burn this damned mansion down because you locked her in a Twelsvedamned fish tank.”

The last remark seemed to shut the two of them up for a moment, giving her enough time to begin to piece together her thoughts. To piece together the few remaining ‘what the swiving hells’ she had yet to verbalize. One of them for wondering how Sbahi lost to a fish. Another for how they convinced Sbahi to bet on this herself. And the last for how they expected all of this to end. There was no way they sincerely thought that Skub would- She rested her face in her hands. She sighed for the third time. Glass shattered upstairs.

Her eyes shot upwards but the two Au Ra were already sprinting up the stairs before she could even begin to react. Sbahi cursing, a thud, Ardeth and Laoet cursing, two more thuds. She heard glass crunch into the rugs and against the wood floors. She watched water start to drip down the stairs. She blinked several times. Sighed. For the fourth time. She started her way slowly up the stairs.
