uh, I did listen to your side. For years. Because like many kids, I figured that if my parents supported something that meant it was Good.

Then I finally got to that age in high school where you start to question everything you know (or think you know) and why things are the way they are. I began learning more about what Republicans stood for and about some of the ways that their beliefs are based on complete bullshit, and continued learning throughout college from various sources (including my classes).

Republicans bitch about how Democrats/liberals are ‘special snowflakes’ who ‘need to learn about the world’ but I did just that and found that none of the arguments conservatives use to justify their beliefs hold up to actual facts. None. Even most of the beliefs based on ‘Christianity’ are based on wildly misinterpreting the Bible. But when you try to explain those things to them they essentially plug their ears and go “LA LA LA I CAN’T HEAR YOU” because they refuse to deal with any kind of cognitive dissonance.
