We do not get enough megaratch where Ratchet takes one look at Megatron and goes "oh you NEED someone to have a firm hand with you don't you?"

Because I just got the image of Ratchet dealing with Megatron who's purposefully misbehaving and Optimus playing the good boy, and all three are having such a wonderful time
tfa Optiratch fan (i ship the bridge crew as a polycule but their like my first when i got back into fransformers) In the show they have a solid dynamic and most of the popular Optimus ships are with older characters. Why not let him hit the gilf living right next to him.
Ratchet feels so self conscious about it, Optimus is so much younger and awfully handsome but he genuinely has feelings for ratchet and not just cause he's his type. He values his wisdom and experience, most of all his selflessness. Optimus feels knows he can trust him and thats what he needs in a partner after what happened with sentinal and elita.
I can just imagine they're so awkward at first, they're both self conscious about their feelings a little bit, in their own way. Optimus got teased for crushing on Kup in bootcamp so he has that and Ratchet feeling unworthy of his affection.
Okay but bridge crew polycule is peak just not in this au. Tfa Op so had a thing for older bot. And while there is still lingering affection for Sentinel and he still cares about the blow heart Optimus knows he's not what he needs anymore. Ratchet is definitely.
And while in my head tfa Rodimus while older than this version of Optimus he's not THAT much older while Drift looks super young thanks to his frame change but he's as old as Ratchet. He's been through this before and they both are super encouraging of it!
Meanwhile Bulkhead Prowl and Bee have known for years and have been waiting for them to get their heads out of there afts XD
But yea. Awkward mode first because Optimus has no idea how a healthy relationship should be and Ratchet is rusty(in many ways) and hasn't actively dated anyone after Drift
