Sebastian Flyte having solemn Viking funerals for his peacocks when they die, giving them half a bottle of brandy and an eulogy written just for them; he would save a feather from their tails, and kept them in a box on the mantlepiece, tucked under a compass. He kept Charles's letters with them, in the hope that they could all find their way back.Ā

Through your blog I've been hearing so many fragments about your OCs that it's hard not to be curious about them. Talk a bit about them?
I have a lot of OCs? But I guess Iāll talk about the main ones from Death of Kings. This will probably an insanely long post. And possibly confusing
The Death of Kings a.k.a And Still We Await The Death of Kings.Ā First of all, a little bit of context: there are four lands (Winter, Spring, Summer, Autumn) and each of these lands have a God, who has a physical form.Ā This story is, essentially, about the crown prince of the Winter-lands befriending the God thereof and getting dragged into some serious shit as a result.
Ilhan, my protagonist, is ten years old when the story begins. He is born with the power of Sight, though he cannot seeĀ everything.Ā He canāt See any of the Gods or things related to said Gods. He also tends to randomly know things other people donāt or expect him not to know. He does know a lot of things, but in his ten years heās learnt that not all things are worth being said. Aside from the Sight, he can also cast simple spells and create objects from ice. Heās better at the latter, really. Generally, the nobles and so are uncomfortable with the idea of him, not only because he is a Seer, but also (more importantly) because he is illegitimate. Not only that, he is Queen Yseultās son with a prince of the Spring-lands. Thereās a whole story behind that that will probably take forever to tell, but what it comes down to is that the Spring-lands and the Winter-lands donāt like each other much. To make matters worse, Ilhan sticks out like a sore thumb because he has auburn hair and green eyes, whereas everyone else has blonde hair and blue or grey eyes. He prizes his family and friends above everything else, including himself.
Iskander is Ilhanās younger half-brother. At the start, heās seven years old and the sweetest cutiepie ever. Heās also the least magical of the kids and sometimes heās a bit envious but he also thinks that having Ilhanās powers is a bit frightening so in the end he doesnāt mind as much. Heās much more accepted in general, despite the circumstances of his conception (heās the result of a rape), because heās actually legitimate (his mother was married at the time, his genitor was a complete jerk). He and Ilhan are nigh inseparable, first because Iskander is very much in awe of his brother, later because someone needs to at least pretend to watch Ilhanās back when heās spacing out.
Iordana is the youngest. At the beginning sheās a baby, but even then she shows some potential as a sorceress. Her ability to see the future isnāt as great as Ilhanās, but she can cast more powerful spells and teases him about it whenever she can. Sheās closer to Ilhan than to Iskander, but the difference isnāt so great; itās merely that Ilhan can understand her better some times (because a. he always knows things and b. heās as much of an outcast as she is). At other times, she and Iskander can be exasperated at Ilhan together.
Vetur is the God of the Winter-lands, whom Ilhan befriends.Ā misterluteceĀ and I pretty much agree that heās a fool that needs to be hit with a book. Most of it has to do with the fact that Vetur has these three oracles (brazen heads, literal heads) that he can hear all the time but rarely listens to and then he gets himself into trouble. [cueĀ everyoneĀ being extremely exasperated].
I could talk about the other Gods here but that would probably take an entire post itself. I mean, Iāve pretty much got it all in my head, but as soon as I try to explain it I realise how much context is needed to understand this whole mess. And some of it I still need to straighten out myself :)

Youāre not alone in that. I found āSilenceā more of a thriller variety of books than actual horror. I havenāt tried the movie, though, and if you do I hope youāll let us know what you thought of it!
I would agree with you, the book is more of a suspense or thriller novel than a horror one.
I Just finished the movie. Again, suspenseful but not scary (though this may be my high tolerance to thriller/horror things). Very good though, I really liked how they portrayed Clarice, and Anthony Hopkins is great.Ā

Hello. Do you happen to know the pianist who played the first track in your mix 'In Calm Waters'? I loved the way they played Nocturne in E-flat major, Op.9 No.2.
Iām glad you loved it, so do I! But sadly I donāt know who the pianist is. Occasionally I download entire mixes with classical music from 8tracks, and this Nocturne was one of them, but there werenāt any details, besides the name and the composer.
Maybe one of my followers knows?Ā http://8tracks.com/rosingspark/in-calm-waters

Wow whatever happened to your classes? And by 'left' you mean 'gone forever' or 'on indefininite vacation' or 'didn't come to class today'?
well apparently my school promised a lot of teachers bonuses except they didn't follow through on the promise so many teachers have left and we have a lot of absent teachers now. :|Ā
