#opening rite

We now move into the Satanic Occult Workings of The Ebon Book Of Satan, and the first of these Texts details the Rite known as Conjuring The Black Temple which is an opening Rite designated to be performed before most of the Rites and Arts in this Grimoire. The Rite is constructed to raise a Magickal Black Temple about the Working area and those Initiates who shall be working within it, it is not a protective Circle in the sense of what that usually means, it is a sphere to conjure, harness and direct Infernal energies although its fiery perimeter does ensure that adverse forces would not be made welcome or permitted. The Rite should start with the Initiate before the Altar of Satan, the Altar should be set up with all Infernal Implements that will be required for the Rites taking place, all illumination candles should be lit and any Oils or Incenses being used should be already be burning. The Initiate stands in silent meditation on the Workings that are to take place before raising their left hand in the Satanic Salute and reciting the following:

“Here this night before the Sacred Altar of Our Lord Satan . . . I seek to erect the Sacrosanct Realm of Communion . . . that Infernal Realm in which the Demon of Hell and the Satanic Initiate of the mortal sphere may meet . . . seek to Conjure the Black Temple . . . the secret dominion of union between the physical world and the Domain of Hell . . . by the power of Our Lord Satan I Conjure the Black Temple of Communion . . . by the Sacred Grail of Our Lady Lilith do I make manifest this Sphere of Union . . . through their Infernal Current and the ineffable powers of the Demonic do I summon forth the Black Temple in this abode!”

The Initiate now meditates upon the Black Temple forming around them, visualizes a darkness falling over the working area, a stygian veil of intense energy and manifest blackness in which shadowy figures seem to move and morph. The Initiate allows themselves to slip into a semi-state of meditation, feeling themselves merge with the ever encroaching darkness around them, losing themselves to its all encompassing embrace. They sense that they are no longer alone and that Beings not physical are abroad moving silently in the darkness about them and then when ready recite the following:

“The Black Temple is erected and none are welcome here but the Infernal Beings of Hell and the mortal Initiates who serve them . . . here within this sacred sphere the Demons of the Kingdom of Hell maybe be summoned . . . their power harnessed and channeled to make manifest the desires of the Legion of Hell and their Earthbound Acolytes . . . I seal this Black Temple with the Infernal Current of Our Lord Satan . . . that the Workings performed here within it shall sustain and gestate that which is the dictate of our will and of the Demons pleasure . . . by Satan’s power I summon the Flames of Hell!”

The Initiate raises their arms in supplication and visualizes a circle of scarlet flame erupt into life around the perimeter of the Ritual Area, feels the heat of the flames begin to generate through the Black Temple and at this point declares:

“The flames of Our Lord Satan’s majesty are alive!”

The Initiate now takes up the Ritual Chalice containing the Ritual Wine already Consecrated to Satan and places it upon the Pentacle of Satan, visualizing the power of the Pentacle energizing the contents within the Chalice, then when ready the Initiate makes the sign of the Satanic Salute and delivers the Call to Satan:

“Satan . . . Lord of Hell . . . Infernal Majesty . . . Black Goat of the Sabbat . . . Devil of the Ancient Myths . . . Lord of Illusions . . . Primordial Architect of Chaos . . . the Thorn . . . the Spear . . . the Ram Headed God of the Night . . . Father of Darkness . . . I Call upon you Lord Satan to empower and offer Infernal Benedictions upon the Satanic Workings that shall be performed this night . . . Diabolus . . . King of the Demonic Legion . . . Weaver of Mysteries . . . bringer of Evolution . . . journey forth this night from the Realms of Hell and oversee my Workings as you have long overseen the Mysteries of the Satanic Witch and Black Magician!”

The Initiate now takes up the Chalice and drinks of the Communion Wine before continuing:

”This Chalice is the symbol of Our Lord Satan’s Sacred Cup of Knowledge of which we may drink once Initiated into His Sacrosanct Legion here upon Earth . . . the contents of this Unholy Grail are Consecrated by the Infernal Power of the Pentacle of Satan and forged as the Bloodline of He who is True Master of this World . . . and by this Bloodline am I imbued with His ineffable power and wisdom and ordained to oversee the Infernal Workings that shall unfold within the Black Temple this night . . . Ave Satanas!”

Placing the Chalice back upon the Altar the Initiate concludes by saying:

“May the Rites and Workings of Our Lord now commence . . . Ave Satanas!”

When the Black Arts of Satanism are to be performed the Satanic Pentacle should be drawn from its resting place and put at the centre of the Altar or upon the ground before the Practitioner should the Altar not be in use, for it shall be used to Forge The Realm Of Union. The Practitioner begins by carrying out the Practice known as Transcending The Inner Gate (detailed in Text 9 of The Black Book), this opens up the Working area upon a different realm located between worlds. The Practitioner should Meditate upon the Satanic Pentacle, visualising the Scarlet Inverted Pentagram upon it beginning to glow with a deep intensity, when ready the Practitioner should recite the following:

“Through the power of the Pentacle Of Satan, Consecrated and empowered in His Majestic Name . . .  I call forth Our Infernal Lord’s force through this portal of His manifestation to Conjure once more the Realm Of Union  . . . may darkness fall around me, a blackness which is the reflection of the darkest core of Hell . . . and around the perimeter of this Abyssian Sphere shall there erupt a Circle of Crimson Infernal Flame empowered by Satan and the Higher Beings of the Demonic Hierarchy to sustain the power which shall be gestated here . . .  and protect against the adverse energies which may obstruct our Sacred Rites!”

The Practitioner visualises the area become consumed by dark energy, intense energy which is only permeated by the moving of even darker shadows within the all embracing blackness.   Around the sphere of impenetrable darkness their erupts a circle of glowing Infernal Crismon Fire emanating with the same power as the Inverted Pentagram upon the Pentacle, when the Practitioner feels ready in their Visualisation they recite the following words:

“Conjured is the Realm Of Union, the realm which lies between the worlds . . . not wholly upon Earth but neither embedded in the depths of Hell . . . the sacred Dominion Of Union where Satanic Apostle and Demonic being may meet and Commune and Merge as the allies that they are . . . a  Dominion divided from confines . . . between the lands of the living and the arisen . . . and around its perimeter rises the Ring Of Crimson Fire forged from the energy of Our Lord Satan Himself to empower the Rites carried out here . . . and to banish the forces of the Nazarene and all Pallid Prophets who turn the world Grey with their inane breath . . . Ave Satanas!” 

The Practitioner now Meditates upon the Conjured Realm of Shadows visualising the darkness and the Scarlet Circle intensifying in power, there is a sense that Beings are with you in the shadowy veils of the summoned realm, Servitors of the Demons of the Infernal Hierarchy aiding and empowering the ever consuming darkness. With the Realm Of Union now forged the Practitioner closes by reciting the following:

“The Realm Of Union now awakened, the power of the Demonic Hierarchy now surrounds us and our Rites and Workings shall be encircled by the majestic forces of Hell . . . may the Arts of Black Magick and Satanic Rite now be imbued with those forces . . . Manifestum In Nomine Satanas!”
