Lobby Loitering || OPEN
There was something about the lobby of the Stone Fruit Inn that was so very comfortable. Maybe it was the warm earth tones, maybe it was the plethora of interesting books on the shelf - maybe it was just the knowledge that the space belonged to Freddie and Iann. But whatever it was it meant that Miguel didn’t mind waiting around the lobby when he had plans to hang out with Iann and he got called away on “official business”.
Besides, Miguel had the patience of a ... well a doctor. He didn’t mind when things came up or people had to run off. He just sat in the lobby, skimming the books, with Molly dozing at his feet. She seemed to like the Stone Fruit too, though she hadn’t warmed up much to Iann. Eventually he settled on one book about vampires that had a very dense magical feel to it. Even if there was nothing overtly magical about it. He figured it was a personal kid of magic, it was a well worn book - that meant someone spent a lot of time reading it or thinking about it and that energy had rubbed off on it. Would it be in poor taste to siphon off that energy? Whoever read it wasn’t a witch or they wouldn’t keep it in a public place. If they didn’t know they were charging up the book there could’t be any trouble in taking that charge.
So he read the book, giving each page a gentle stroke to suck up and store the magic in himself. Even though he didn’t think he was doing anything wrong, he did keep looking up from the book every-so-often to make sure no one was watching him.
