Does anyone else remember Islam?
I miss him.
Lol I looked through the Opaquehope tag and everyone's writing posts as if he diiiiieeeddd. (He didn't die did he?) Seriously though, it is like that when people leave Tumblr if you don't know them in real life especially when they have amazing personalities.
some guy in my class made a really long and dumb discussion post about ~~~**capitalism with a conscious**~~~ and i remembered when islam coined tl;dr aka too liberal didn't read, and i was so tempted to leave that as a comment on his thread but i didn't. i miss islam. he's good people.
Could you name a few of your favorite blogs/bloggers here?
mhmm. At first I was going to be like, I don’t have any favourites. Then I decided to think about which blogs I check the most. I like the more personal blogs, with personal commentary, posts, thoughts, ideas, or if not personal content then atleast new articles or pieces I have no seen before.
So, I like thenoobyorker and readyokaygo. I learn quite a bit from both of them.
I like themuselim and salmoomah. And these guys are a good mix of personal and informative posts.
I liked opaquehope and moslike when they were around.

happy (almost) birthday to my dear friend and comrade Islam, one of the greatest men I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
Islam once made this post about how he could never really see himself marrying but if he did marry someone he wouldn't enjoy the ceremony at all, he'd be standing there trying to figure out how to get back home to be alone. and I remember that really resonating with me, like hardcore. on Sunday I saw my cousins and one of them was talking about wedding plans, trying to get me involved, etc. "you've gotta be a part of the wedding, YOU'RE MY COUSIN," yada yada yada. and I panicked, I was vehemently against this, I said,
please don't make me, COME ON, I can't handle that kind of commitment, I want the least amount of responsibility possible, PLEASE.
how hilarious is it that I'm worried about having an insignificant role in other people's weddings? if I'm this worked up over the possibility of being forced to join this wedding party, how the fuck am I ever going to get married? neverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
I think I want something wildly unorthodox. normative familial relations make me a little queasy.
I miss Islam
