There are three types of ways to describe a piece of media being "written like a fanfiction".
This is written with a lot of heart in it and the creator put a lot of passion into something that they wanted a lot of people to see; there's a very obvious homage to another piece of media within but it's done with the utmost respect for it's inspiration.
This is written clearly only to please the creator and is amateurish/confusing in it's delivery; it's plot revelations and concepts are only there because they're interesting in the moment and it comes at the detriment of the story as a whole.
The creator was unbearably horny.
