A long overdue Christmas catch-up with photographer Danilo @danilophoto at Madame George @madamegeorgenz was unceremoniously terminated after the entrees by a text message “Where the bloody hell are you?” Uncle had double booked! So second time lucky! With Aunty Mandy, to reprise the abandoned 1st dinner. Owner Pablo Alvarez @pabloarrascopaz is our new best friend. He kept his mouth shtum, but his sidekick Patrick put us in exactly the same table as where we were sat earlier in the week. Cruel! We had “Quick Eats” of arancini, sesame sourdough with smoked butter and tiradito (a Peruvian speciality cerviche made from thinly sliced pieces of fresh raw fish). For mains, Aunty had the perfectly cooked lamb with garlic, on a bed of puréed spinach. Uncle had the grilled half-chicken, with onion weed and anticucho dressing. We had green asparagus, topped with Parmesan and sunflower seeds and puffed potato. Dinner at Madame George is an affirming experience. Pablo and waitstaff work hard to promote the carefully chosen dishes on the menu and we experience a Peruvian influence in the food served - with hints of Japanese because some have chosen to live in Peru.
