DAM is under renovation for 2023 ready for 2024. These images stand for a level in its interpretation. I paid notice to an article by Robin Evans in an copy of the AA files where he expressed the possibilities in the Barcelona Pavilion; the possibility of multiple reflections and the precedence of the stone joint at eye height. I look forward to the influence this reconditioned building by OM Ungers will make on our learned profession of architects and benefactors.

If Post Modernism had a concept, it was to wake up Classicism; to become aware of the complexity time had covered up. While we may consider OM Ungers Deutsche Architecture Museum in Frankfurt a statement decreeing the model of a House with a House, we do in turn have Bernini's baldacchino in St Peter's Basilica in Rome. The question is not about architecture but the power of the imagination.

A House is a replacement for another, by another; it is for the gathering of friends to wonder at its art; to make the primitive paramount; to make the city pay attention to the artist; to end the war with a piece of history; to occupy the centre ground and offer amusement; to allow the house to become the marker of the museum and place all architecture at its foundations; to remove peril from the equilibrium and let the sun shine like never before.
