As some of you know, I love writing and reading. When I read, even fanfics, I try to pay attention to what works and what doesn't. Fanfiction is a genre on its own, with its own rules. But the best fics I have read, are those long ones that follow a lot of the classic rules (which are a bit difficult for me to explain in English).

Break My Heart is one of those, and easily gets top three of all fanfics I have read. I love that it is only from Will's POV, and his character is extremely well portrayed. There are OCs, but all of them are of the kind that you wish would become canon. There is an actual plot, a challenge to the protagonist, that helps the story develop beyond just fluffy romance. The way Nico adapts to life at camp is very much like how I would imagine it, with fewer break-downs and less panic than portrayed in most fanfics.
