robert being a professor at dwma (maybe at the NA branch specifically) and having ties to death either as the third meister in the line of a whole bunch of progidies Or as him being "next in line" after his dad n granddad were both death scythes (either he already Is a death scythe or is Working On It(tm) despite him not actually having a bonded meister)
he's put in charge of this group of witches the dwma have captured and think they can rehabilitate into working for them-- the z-team-- and he helps oversee all the little missions/ bounties they get sent out for
i havent 100% committed to what weapon robert would be if he Is a third-in-line (aspiring) death scythe and by that i mean im only barely thinking about it now
+ w the zteam i do still wanna lean into the witches we see all having animal themes to them . and also whether or not i want waterboy to be a witch or a student at dwma who's struggling so much that death thinks itd be a good idea to throw him in w the zteamers
also i have no idea how mandy fits into all of this admittedly since instead of this being a characters-replacing-canon thing i imagined this more like dispatch but just in the same universe . maybe she's another professor just trying to help robert out/ uplift him or something
thinking a bit harder w the animal theme-ing, i think really only sonar, coupe, and waterboy's kinda stick out as kinda obvious (bat, swan?, and some sort of fish/ underwater creature)
was initially thinking of flambae being a lizard/ some form of reptile as a nod to dragons but then that might end up being too similar to the Actual Lizard Guy in game im forgetting the name of rn (if he even has one) . would give him snake instead but medusa would kill me . fire ant/ fireflly would be Hilarious i think that guy would Hate being a bug
visi chameleon ? or maybe an octopus
golem could potentially be sorta similar to crona's situation where instead of him being an actual witch he was made by/ constructed by one and decided to go rogue about it
sad to say but ive been fighting for my Life to come up w ideas for malevola, phenomaman, punch-up, and prism and am kinda Dreadfully short . brain's flirting with the idea of malevola being a bull and prism being a peafowl but i have no idea how to tie that in w their superhero powers
would also like to imagine that since dwma has multiple branches and one of them's for north america that all of this is Still happening in torrance/ greater LA. i dont think itd make That much sense for it to be there but still . maybe california's closer than excalibur thinks
some of the sorta major plotpoints would still be around, too-- maybe robert still was the one to apprehend flambae and handed him over to the dwma to deal with and has been trying desparately hard to not give him Any Clues about it (this works a bit better w weapon robert since then he could try and prevent flambae from seeing him in weapon form/ refusing to tell the zteam what type of weapon he is in order for him to not make that connection . but then maybe he pulls a medusa and just flips the part of his hair to the other side and then no one on the zteam recognizes him), maybe shroud's trying to become the next kishin so they still need to take care of that and everything . maybe chase used to be robert's meister/ weapon up until whatever it was that made him retire to just being a dwma professor (still havent decided that yet)
idk im thinking too hard about this and im unsure what to do with it so im making it yalls problem . would there even be an audience for like a fic of this asp idk
once again . idea for the wolves except its more of a fun headcanon ive had for a bit that i think would be funsies to share
i Vaguely remember seeing somewhere that waterboy has a line when dispatched w sonar about thinking bats were cool ? or something idk i cant remember it exactly . but it Did spawn in the idea that waterboy went to (communtiy?) college with the initial plan to go into veternary work w/ exotics . specifically with more water-aligned mammals but also he knew he most likely had to work with other species to work his way up to that . idk i just think him being an in-house vet for a zoo/ sanctuary where he hangs out with the penguins/ otters/ sea lions all the time would be adorable

on my hybrid-robert-except-dad-forced-him-to-repress-it bullshit lately . newest flavor being some sort of werecat . havent decided which species just yet but for Now brain really likes the idea of his cat form being a lynx
him metaphorically latching onto herman so hard bc he just feels Safe around him . wonder where that came from (most of herms cats being former strays/ one or two former ferals, him taking care of a few feral colonies every time he sees them . just in general giving a safe-to-be-around disney princess vibe to cats) . him finding himself leaning into chad's warmth any chance he gets and just writes it off as it being related to his joint pain and has Nothing to do with how he does the same thing to any stray beam of light that enters his apartment . victor being able to tell Something's up but not being able to name what it is .
robert being Terrified when he purrs for the first time since his hybridness manifested . it happens either after the first time he hooks up with someone (dealer's choice on who) or its after the sardine fight when hes concussed and drunk and feeling well cared for by the z team

imagine the rpf in the dispatch universe . people going " this could mean nothing " at how often sdn dispatches specific heroes together on missions, people sharing random photos they got of two heroes together on a mission where theyre looking at each other for a bit too long for it to be deemed as anything But romantic .
the bone zone is So in on it too btw . when they call in to sdn to get someone on their show they Always request specific heroes and tries to get them to vaguely talk around the whole thing . blazer keeps trying to do pr things to get it to calm down and it only makes it Significantly Worse
z-team gets in on it too and starts teasing each other over whoever it is the people are shipping them with. going ' ooooooooo ' over comms every time they get sent out together, telling them to ' just hard launch already ' even if the two heroes affected arent actually dating each other (yet?)
