i was going to rant this juvenile, hostile, politically charged beauty on my hometown’s (pop 10,000) gossip facebook group on a thread titled “What do you think about OHIP+? (Free Drugs for 24 and under)”
and then decided against it, incase I ever need to move back home and my potential employer happens to be a liberal with a good memory. ---______________________________________________________________----
ELECTION IN JUNE, its pretty obvious what this is. i am a pharmacy tech and i can tell you this is the age range that is MOST often already covered by either their full time student tuition, parents or if not, can easily get on the trillium drug program (income based prescription drug coverage that already exists here in ontario that they're not big on educating people about)
the vast majority of patients that i'm seeing now covered by OHIP+ were not aware of it before arriving at the pharmacy counter and it just makes me think... man...these people are so politically unaware that they probably WOULD just vote for the guys to tout 'free drugs!!' theres no money for this shit. and whoever dares to undos it will forever be the bad guy, so i guess it was kind of a smart move. there were so many cuts to the existing prescription drug coverage in recent years (limiting diabetic test strips, making it harder to get brand name if you reacted to the generic, etc) and in my humble opinion it can be dangerous to have a program with no deductible or copayment($$) of any kind. it is completely free. even seniors pay a small copayment based on income. but no, this one had a better headline and thats all this age group reads anyway
